E: Or, yeah. You can't save everybody, no matter how strong. Also a good lesson for heroes to learn from failure. But these stories are not interested in learning, nor failing.
Yeah, the morality gets a bit murky in a setting where the protagonist is chummy with the local deity and said deity has given the thumbs up to their plan.
Good ol' Joyce, happily explaining to your train wreck of a detective how capitalism manages to internalize criticisms and turn it into yet another product to consume
There are more than enough of those in cheat power reincarnation things, out to mete vengeance using their cheat powers.
Fun is not the word I'd use to describe them.
Morality discussions aside, she does spend quite a lot of time punching villains for someone claiming to not care about it.
Each to their own. It's just fiction.
More Walter White and Tony Soprano than, say, Joffrey Baratheon.
That said, Yuri fuckin sucks. In theory it's a fun character but his debut episode pushed it into creepy territory.
Other than that it's very fun.

Are we still talking about anime that are broadcast on tv or...
Anyways.
Steam
it seems like the author might have realized that. after the episodes where he is introduced, Yuri is toned down a lot.
Having watched the first episode, no, it's still incredibly weird. Don't get me wrong, the writing is good, but maaaaaaan it's weird. For obvious reasons I suspect it'll get less weird as the episodes go on since uh, no more babies, but man this first episode was so odd.
But then I noticed the runtime was like an hour and twenty minutes so I was like, "Oh it's a film."
But no, apparently each episode is just... long.
I've never seen that done in anime before.
One show that comes to mind that always had one hour episodes was Katanagatari. I feel like I've seen another show like that too but I can't remember it.
Im definitely talking about all those shows you hate the most and not this one in particular.
You should totally beat me up as if Im forgiving everything you hate though, dont let me stop you.
Im not a fan of every example just cos Im ok with this one. Im put off by all those others too. Im not discussing the entire genre. You are.
And no Im not going to fall down a slippery slope into raging right wing shit just cos I dont black and white shit. I know how to judge a work individually.
So if they do too many more time skips, I'm not even sure where they're going with the story.
I... did not see that coming.
Yeah I figured they wanted to get all the weird stuff out of the way quick.
Also prevents people from spoiling the ending of the first volume.
Just this season, the new Demon Slayer started off with a 40+ minute episode.
I have finished the kaguya manga. Here are my conclusions:
1. Maki is the best
2. Still not a big fan of Iino
4. I kind of didnt care for Ishigami's latter-series arc as much, and not just because i dont like Iino. I think it was too much of a retread of Shirogane's story, and it was irritating how he continued to be and behave like a kissless turbovirgin all the way to the end despite having significant romantic development. I think it would have been a more interesting story if he'd accepted the one-night stand with Tsubame, leaving him sexually fulfilled but romatically unfulfilled - in contrast to Shirogane, who at that point is romantically fulfilled but still kind of a turbovirgin.
5. I know its because of Japanese media standards, but I'm really tired of titles that insist on spelling out that the underage characters aren't drinking alcohol, despite their behavior clearly being coded as drunk. Has any teenager ever willingly chosen to drink non-alcoholic liquor?
Those first 9 chapters are the biggest hurdle to gettiing to the good shit. If it was that first eoisode for 3 weeks instead people would bail

There were still good chapters, but I think the decline started during the Hayasaka kidnapping arc.
Oh, so they're treehousing?
About that last point:
