Yeah, that is definitely a filter
That's something Aka struggles with, even in LiW. Manga ending spoilers
Mako finds out that Yoshida's there, so she wants to go, but doesn't wanna go on her own. So she immediately texts Ucchi (hey lets hang out with Tomoko and the girls) and Sachi (hey lets hang out with Tomoki and the girls) and boy, Mako really is the only one who actually notices who everyone's crushing on, huh? Beware of the nice quiet girl who fits into every social group.
So now we've got Ucchi and Asuka who both have crushes on Tomoko (is Asuka still a character in this manga? Feels like not doing great in the popularity polls has killed her appearances, which sucks). Then we've got Tomoki who really just wants to be left alone, Sachi who has a crush on him and also she's evil, Yoshida who everyone thinks might have a crush on him, Mako who definitely has a crush on Yoshida and is very worried about Yoshida having a crush on a boy. Oh and also Yoshida's two delinquent friends, who don't have crushes on anyone but will definitely increase the drama in any situation they're put into just for the fun of it. Oh and also half these girls don't realize Tomoki is Tomoko's brother and are wondering what their relationship is.
Also we've got Yuri, who absolutely hates Sachi and Minami and would punch either of them just on principle. Oh and also there's the friendship triangle between Futaki (who's cool), Sachi (who is evil), and Minami in the middle.
So the potential for either making out or screaming matches with people crying both feel quite high!
There is some great understated storytelling in the latest chapter of Call of the Night (168), they fit a _heck_ of a lot into four pages.

Also last order remains pretty great, which is funny for something that's just one giant tournament arc

It's not far off from their actual relationship.
Anyway that's all as you were
Haha, yeah. The thought of pushing through the barrier of being mediocre at something and sticking with it until I'm actually good kinda prevents the shows premise from being all that relatable.
Still very good though. There are definitely moments that invoked an uncomfortable chuckle and a "yeah, me."
Fan Made but really apt
Also this throwback.
I think the Oshi no Ko anime will be really well served by actually being able to see super good or bad acting instead of basically having to take the manga's word for it.
I'm not sure how easily they can portray "good" acting against great acting, though.
Like, in a room full of good actors, the bad actor is obvious.
But if one of the good actors is actually supposed to be phenomenal, I imagine it's harder to demonstrate without just resorting to a bunch of reaction shots of people going "Wow! Look at that guy!"
We'd seen Ai with a star in each eye, and each of the twins with a star in one eye. We'd also seen Akane mimic Ai and gain the star in each eye when she does it. And then there's Aqua's black star eyes.
But during the climax of the stage play, Aqua encourages Kana to really cut loose with her acting and show what she can really do instead of just supporting the whole team. And when she finally does it, her eyes are just full of stars. Not only that, but she's got stars all around her like she just got the invincibility power-up in a Sonic game. It was a nice visual shorthand for how talented Kana really is compared to the others.
Though I don't know how they'll handle it for the anime, probably just focus on the visuals and audience reactions and have the dialogue be inaudible or something.
I like the characters, but other than that, it's jobber city.
Aka Akasaka of Kaguya-sama fame debuts a new manga in a collaboration with a new artist: Nishizawa 5mm.
It's another romcom. The premise is basically about a high spec girl who's good at everything except talking to boys. Since she's overly shy, she downloads an app that lets her hire an expensive love consultant to help her navigate her love life. Hilarity ensures, though I'm sure there will be more to it than that. I wonder if it will be like anime Cyrano de Bergerac.
Kodansha, which among other things publishes Weekly Shonen Magazine (which has a ton of popular romcoms), is launching their own manga app a la Shueisha's Manga Plus.

It looks like it will run on gacha mechanics? You get a certain amount of currency a day you can spend to temporarily read chapters for free, or you can roll the gacha to get extra currency, or if you're lucky a random amount of premium currency to permanently unlock chapters. I lost the link where I read that, so take it with a grain of salt.
It's definitely appears not to be as good as Manga Plus, since gacha is a plague on humanity. Color me skeptical. E: It's also US only.
Since it will be an app and website, I imagine there will be no series that would even merit censoring, since Google/Apple clamp down on fan service pretty hard.
