I think people are being pretty effective with their use of spoilers for the most part. It's only for a couple days, then it usually dies down. Chainsaw Man was the same way, though I guess the posts were way more hyped up.
Remember a few months back when someone brought up AMVs that summarize the entire show?
Obvious spoilers
Paradise Lost is such a good OP.
Also, episode 11
suletta regretta
There was a bit where it seemed like, when
I don’t know if they’d do it because it’d be weird given how they subverted the assumption at the start that Suletta was Eri, but it would be goddamn wild if they wound up going with, like, Eri and Suletta merging into one consciousness, instead of whatever Prospera’s plan is
Also with the whole plan, if we remember Cradle Planet, Eri didn’t want Suletta involved from the start, (implied) because she thought it was putting her in danger; she couldn’t communicate thanks to the Permet access levels at the time so she was trapped voicelessly trying to tell Prospera that they could do it with just the two of them without involving Suletta (there’s also a bit of a sink cost in there too; Eri refers to the reason being that Suletta’s a “good girl,” so we can infer that she may value Suletta’s wellbeing more than her own. She may be trapped in this conflict but she doesn’t feel that Suletta has to be.
Reminder too that we have a confirmation that The Blessing, the first opening, is being sung as from Eri’s perspective:
Incidentally that’s also why I doubt we’re getting a grim ending; the series has well acknowledge the bleakness underpinning everything, and has staked out that it’s on Suletta to break everything that binds their course to that bleakness.
Incidentally, speaking of lyrics,
Red;birthmark as well seems (especially paired with the visuals of the second ending) to be Miorine during this part?:
Go, Suletta, and Revolutionize Your World.
Midway through the first episode I made a comment that it was gorgeous but I was confused because I thought this was the “basically sailor hentai show.” 5 minutes later I typed “god damn it.”
I’m now like 7 episodes in and this show is great. It’s hard to express to my partner who keeps only paying attention to the horny parts just how smart and actually funny it has been, and even the horny parts are mostly used for good!
The big thing that I am sad we only got for the first half of episode 1 was that I think the bomber jacket over school uniform character design at the beginning was phenomenal and the first fight wearing that was an amazing animation.
I genuinely liked the juxtaposition of school drama and backroom political/corporate intrigue. If it had been just the former, I'd have found it a lot less engaging. It provides a dynamic of "these kids are dealing with these small-scale problems, adults are dealing (or making) these large-scale problems, and both those problems interact with each other in coherent and interesting ways".

Oh, that may be how they placate the protestors long enough to engage in talks, actually. Aerial disabling all the MSs and executing the head of the BG's enforcers would at least get the Earthians to take Miorine's attempt at dialogue seriously.
ETA: WfM has a similar shojo-seinen balancing as Escaflowne, and I freakin' love that show. The pacing is better in WfM, though.
[HORNS BLARE]
ten years?! ten years since it came out oh god mr. stark I don't feel so good

Kill La Kill might be the most Go Nagai-ass thing Go Nagai never made himself
but sometimes I really hated KLK
I hope you now appreciate the greatness that is Gamagori and his inability to be consistent in size in any given scene
Im talking, of course, about
Steam: https://steamcommunity.com/id/TheZombiePenguin
Stream: https://www.twitch.tv/thezombiepenguin/
Switch: 0293 6817 9891
We doing this?
Rent free in my head.
edit: It's worth watching Kill La Kill for the OST alone....
Anyways KLK is controversial but finding out the source material is a bunch of shows about delinquent high school girls in roaming violent gangs was worth it
He is very consistent actually. He's always the largest thing in any shot!
oh since they did that entire hallway fill to standing normally in the classroom transition in the very first episode, I figured it was an effect to denote the size of his presence and never actually noticed it since then. If they didn't have that connecting scene maybe It would have stuck with me more throughout.
nothing happened in the dream, I was literally walking down the street and she strode by like the lady in the red dress in The Matrix and I was like "oh wow I'm 14 again"
It's very funny to me how many shows Gainax and Trigger are known for in the West as stand-alone icons are in fact playing around with deeply established genre works
Gunbuster as a bizarre sports anime parody by way of super robots, Evangelion as a riff on the real robot subgenre and especially Tomino's works, FLCL as a bizarre tangent from slice-of-life and even some josei/shojo influences, Gurren Lagann as a riff on GAR-ass super robot manliness, and so on
Basically the only one people in the US spot instantly is that Panty and Stocking is a riff on Western (and especially 90s/00s) cartoons
So far this is my contender for best of the season

Later today, Delicious in Dungeon V. 12 is showing up!
a teacher in a classroom saying 'the definition of fascism is...'
Mako did have a kickass Goku Uniform though
THIS
I think “Eva is a deconstruction of mecha” caught on mainly because of Gainax’s history with mecha anime, and mecha being far more familiar to Americans than Tokusatsu was
But Evangelion is assuredly Anno filtering ideas through the lens of Ultraman. All the motifs, institutional positions, etc. correspond so much more accurately to the structure of Ultraman than to mecha. Hell Rebuild even makes this more blatant when in the final movie

EDIT:
The S2 Engine is a Color Timer! THE S2 ENGINE IS A COLOR TIMER!!
[somewhere, the ghost of Tohl Narita grumpily spits]
but I definitely had a fantastic time with it.
