Wacom Help (Not about what to buy, about drivers)

I have a Graphire 3 4x5, when I installed Vista it gave me a little trouble but I got it to work. I let my friend borrow it after that for a week and when I plugged it back in it wouldn't work. It will work for the first 5 seconds its plugged in and then it will just stop. After about two weeks of this one day I just started up my computer and it worked fine until the next time I restarted. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers many times, I know I have the Vista compatible driver, but it will just work for the first 5 seconds of plugging it in and then stop. The power is still reaching the tablet, and when I put the pen on the surface the led turns green, but nothing happens on the screen. I'm really... perplexed about this. Has anyone encountered a similiar situation?

Did you download the latest Vista driver from their website?

I heard you shouldn't use the drivers that come with the tablets, just get the latest from the wacom website.
