I can't seem to find the free MMO thread anymore so I'm completely lost.
Every summer a couple of friends and I like to play some games together. Usually old and always free. We've just tired of playing Diablo 2 for the thousandth time and now we're looking for something else.
Basically what we're looking for is something like Everquest but with no monthly fee and free to download. We've been through Anarchy Online and Knight Online. We're just looking for some old MMO to sustain us until Hellgate: London comes out.
Does anyone here have any ideas on what we could do? My brother seems to think Everquest 1 is free now but I can't find any evidence to support that so I think he's wrong.
Neverwinter Nights 2 has great single player, but can't say about multiplayer or player crafted dungeons much. It also is fairly hard on a computer.
Either that or Titan Quest is also good. Gets kind of boring after a while, but if you have a varied group you play with, as opposed to just singleplayer all the time, you should be fine before it gets too stale.
Looks like it did. But I don't think it's free. I always wanted to play that game though.
You aren't missing much.
You walk in a straight line and fight monsters along the path and after a few hours stop playing becuase you're just walking in a straight line killing monsters because "some evil" is at the end of the line.

Yeah, you should play Diablo 2.
Diablo 2 is awesome.
I'm thinking something like Everquest or Final Fantasy 11.
Is Everquest free now?
and runescape (but u've probably already played that)

The problem is exactly like y'all have seen. We've played pretty much everything.
Runescape. Knight Online. Anarchy Online. Diablo 2. Neverwinter Nights.
We've played a lotttttt of games. We're really just trying to waste time until Hellgate comes out.
