But Blue Beetle is one of the best comics DC is putting out.
Unless the book has at least 75% "Green" in it, he won't buy it.
pretty much
but you can't have green without blue and yellow
so buy blue beetle and booster gold
i'm weird about dc comics. i'm really only interested in Green Lantern and any comics that impact the ongoing Green Lantern storyline
so, for example, if Beetle destroys the Cyborg Superman or something, I'll get it because it impacts the greater GL story. if nothing of importance happens and its just Beetle fighting someone with a yellow ring with no impact on the Sinestro Corps storyline, then i can't justify picking it up

what about booster gold #2
he didn't affect the greater GL story as much as it showed how he had
And I don't want to spend any more money that I already am, but I agree that my buying habits are very head-meet-wall.
And I collect Ex Machina, Fables, DMZ, Sandman, Transmetropolitan, Planetary, The Losers, Starman, The Authority, and soon Annihilation in trade so I think I'm still reading good comics.
Wrote more on this here, but looks like Sodam Yat is getting the Ion treatment or taking his vitamins. Even with Daxamite / Superman-level strength and a GL ring, he's not in Prime's league. Prime can move planets out of orbit and it took the entire GLC, JLA, JSA and 2 Superman, one of which died, to stop him last time. For Yat to be doing any kind of damage to him will require some serious power boosting that only the big green whale can provide.

pretty much confirming that Yat will complete all of the prophecies set forth by Moore

Do notice how Prime is simply crushing that wrist in his hand.
so i think the reading order for the next few issues goes GLC #17 -> Tales of the Sinestro Corps: Superman-Prime -> GLC #18 -> GL #25 -> Tales of the Sinestro Corps: Ion

As an aside: this is why we as a society need to move beyond cash.
Those sneaky asians have been paying for fast food and groceries with their subway cards for years now, we are behind.
On-topic: I had a quick google and couldn't find a suggested reading order for the books in this event. I just read a couple in completely the wrong order and would like to stave off further fuck-ups, any ideas?

Am I the only one who doesn't particularly like Sodam Yat? (I like SBP less, but still) I mean, he's okay, but I don't particularly like single beings with that kind of power, especially in stories like this, because it lessens the impact. And there are currently too many of them in Sinestro Corps Wars.

If he hadn't been set up in the prophecy back in the 80s by Moore, I would probably dislike his inclusion. As it is, I find his presence only mildly annoying... because he's taking a little of the spotlight away from our four main Lanterns.

I actually really liked him in his break out in the recent GLC issues. He's cocky but not overly annoying and he has the power to back his talk up. I'm sure they'll be setting him up for a fall eventually after building him up, possibly in the third act of Johns' GL trilogy, but as of right now, I really like him.
GLC is about all the Lanterns and he's just another cog in the machine in my eyes. Natu, Arisia, the Lost Lanterns, Guy, Kiliwog and all the rest are the reason I pick up GLC. I personally find most of the human Lanterns overexposed and far less interesting than the huge cast available in the GLC book.
As for his power levels, Kyle had the Ion powers and people seemed to like him. Even with the Daxamite powers under a yellow sun, Yat should be no where near as powerful as Prime, who can move planets out of their orbits and other such nonsense. Complaining about his power levels seems to apply to Superman, Supergirl, dead Superboy, Martian Manhunter, Kingdom Come Superman, Power Girl and all the various other uber powers in the DCU and I don't find they cheapen or lessen the Earth-based GLs in the slightest.
However, I suppose I can understand where youre coming from if you have a huge attachment to a particular character, but I wouldnt worry about Yat taking over the GL books or anything any time soon.
I have a feeling Superboy Prime is still a little weakened by being in the middle of a red sun for 2 years.
Yeah but he's not wearing that armor to look cool. It originally pumped him full of yellow sun energy, so you have to assume it still does, plus whatever yellow fear mojo juice it's hitting him up with now.

GREEN LANTERN CORPS #18 (SEP070163), which is solicited at a “Sinestro Corps War†epilogue, is actually Part 10 of the storyline, preceding GREEN LANTERN #25. Scheduled to arrive in stores on November 28, this issue is written by Peter Tomasi; art credits have been updated to pencils by Jamal Igle and Patrick Gleason, inks by Jerry Ordway and Prentis Rollins, and a cover by Gleason and Rollins.
which makes sense with the apparent quiet announcement of GL #25 and Tales of Sinestro Corps: Ion being pushed back to December 12th
He definately could, he's a Johns creation. I want him to show up in the middle of a battle and have everyone stop fighting and just stare, followed my Sinestro smacking himself in the head.
and while i haven't been the biggest fan of Gibbons' run on GLC, his Sinestro Corps chapters were solidly consistent and this issue was a rather crappy way for him to go out
oh well

So, I don't have a copy of Emerald Twilight near at hand, but Hal Jordan sure managed to do a number on the Laterns without the ability to use lethal force, right?
Why hasn't the GLC been cutting off hands in the first place?
Rans, I disagree with you very strongly. I loved this issue. This issue is part of why I god damn love the GL portion of more than the rest of the DC universe.

I agree. Artwork aside, this was another great chapter.
I can't decide if Kilowog going apeshit on Arkillo or Sodam Yat getting his upgrade was more awesome. Probably an edge to Yat just for the cliffhanger at the end. I was pretty much saying "FUCK YES!" out loud the whole time I read the issue.

Oh I liked the issue just fine. But as a final issue for a writer that's been quite good to the reinvention of this series, it felt very editorialy driven. I mean, granted it was another chapter in this event but its unfortunate that Gibbons couldn't finish it out.

What the fuck happened to Cyborg?
I find myself unable to recall anything that happened after Titans East.
but I agree, kind of
They need to get rid of Supergirl (completely)
then pick up someone lighthearted, because every character right now (other than Miss Martian) is angsty (kid devil only sometimes)
and then stick to the team for a while
it hasn't been a steady team since pre-Infinite Crisis.
