Sexy Time -- With Dessert!

My girlfriend is at work all of today, and then has to attend a formal dinner for work tonight.

With that in mind, I would like to surprise her when she comes home with a living room full of lit candles, flowers, wine, and... a dessert (because by then, she would've had dinner already).

This, my friends, is were I ask you for suggestions on what exactly to make for this dessert! I have a fair amount of skill when it comes to cooking and baking, so it isn't completely out of the question for me to actually make, make something, but the easier, of course, the better.

She did the whole strawberries and chocolate thing a couple of nights ago, so that is out of the question for me.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Damnit, MotherFirefly, I was going to say mousse. Look up Alton Brown's recipe on www.foodtv.com - it's awesome.

Dude, cheesecake and cherry tarts. Seriously...they take like 5 minutes to make, and they're freakin' delicious.

To add on the chocolate mousse idea...

Whip up some heavy cream with some sugar and vanilla to make some whipped cream, and since it's summer, get some fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, whatever), and chiffonade some mint.

Layer them together in a champagne or wine glass, so you get berries, mousse, mint, whipped cream, and repeat until the glass is full. Garnish with a mint leaf and a couple of upright sliced strawberries on top.

It's really delicious. And it looks really nice too.

edit: Oh yeah, it helps if you have a piping bag. You can usually get those in a supermarket. If you can't find one, just use a ziploc bag and cut a hole in the corner as the tip.

Trifle perhaps. Strawberry trifle is really yummy. It's just angel food cake, pudding, whipped cream, and strawberries (and the juices). Really easy to make, and super delicious.

Something like a Kahlua cake might really get the mood going right also.

a Nice white Chocolate (or Dark) fondue with poundcake, bananna's, marshmellows, nuts, and yes strawberrys. what is great is that if you have a spill, you can lick it off of each other.

a Zinfendel wine is perfect with it.

    Good idea!

An idea I have is run a warm bubble bath for her with candles and feed her ice cream.

Some of you really know how to spoil your significant other. Now if only all men or women could catch onto that; the world would be a better place.

GREAT suggestions, people! Absolutely great stuff here!

I believe that I'm going to go with the cheesecake tarts... But I'm headed to the store now, so we'll see what strikes me while there. ;-)

that is not a bad idea either. like with the fondue spilt ice cream can be licked up. this inevitably leads to intentional spillage. :)

Also believe it or not, if you go into that store "Aveda" in the mall (yes the one with like 4 million lotions etc) they have chocolate body syrup. You may get a wink from the lady at the counter when you check out.

Usually people who enjoy creating foodstuffs know a thing or two about wine, but just in case, someone mentioned pairing with a zin before, and I wanted to make sure that if you did pick up a bottle, that you'd be buying white zin, not red. Dessert wine ain't a bad idea either - I don't know where you live, but if it's somewhere in the Northeast tri-state area, you can probably find a bottle of Alba rasberry desert wine which, when paired with dark chocolate, will always hit the right spot with the female crowd.

Homemade brownies with at least two different types of chocolate chips. Cover with a dallop of french vanilla ice cream and then creme anglaise fresh out of the oven and you're good to go. Split one serving.
