I had to heal this Warrior through Prince Malchezzar. It was a NIGHTMARE. The first attempt, he ate a 15k crit during phase 2. I had to have two different innervates through the fight.

That guy looks like he has fine gear, and I'm not sure how he got crit since he has 500 def.
I think it was more due to his dodge and block than anything else. He just could not mitigate enough damage during phase 2. When we got past the dual-wielding hurdle, everything was peachy.

That guy's stats/gear is fine, if not completely optimal. His spec is dumb, though.
Either he changed it between then and now, or his trinkets are really, really meh. Timelapse Shard has 27 sta and a completely useless-for-a-tank Equip: and Use:. And Skybreaker Whip? I'm mostly sure that used to have some tanking trinket in there.
But what I'm confused at is the low dodge percentage. Blocking doesn't do a tank as much good when stuff's hitting for 4k anyway, and my tankadin(who hasn't gone into a single raid yet) has almost 6% more dodge than that.
I hear Tube's doing something. Don't worry guys. I'll handle it.
Nuke him from orbit. It's the only way to be sure :P
Back to the topic of the hunter with crappy gear, how much RAP should a hunter who has done most/all available quests that reward you with gear upgrades have at level 70 without doing instances?

They say that "uncrittable" is a misnomer, since you can still get crit by mobs while wearing 490+ def. Extremely rare, but people say it still happens. Also, could it be the tank got crushed, instead of crit?

More likely it was crushed. I think only specific bosses can crit somebody over 490 def.

Those Emperors in AQ40 have a skill that reduces Def by 100. Thats the only one know AFAIK. Everywhere else you don't get crit with 490 def.
Yeah, with the proper defense, being crit by normal bosses is either extraordinarily rare, or impossible(I'm not sure anyone even knows, it could be that rare). There are exceptions, like the Malicious Instructors apparently, they have really high combat ratings or something.
A crushing blow sounds more reasonable, but that is one hell of a crushing blow.

The problem is that unlike druids who can just mitigate crushing blows (which will do the same or less damage than a regular hit on a warrior), warriors rely on Shield Block to push crushing blows off of the attack table. During phase 2 prince attacks fast enough that Shield Block will drop before a warrior is able to activate it again.
EDIT: Not always, mind you. But it happens.

I realize that, put crushing blows are 1.5x damage, which means a normal hit would have been 10,000, which is still ridiculously high for a warrior tank to be taking on Prince.
Well, If I remember right the prince gets a special move in Phase two that gives him 2 extra attacks on the same target, which can mean he gets hit for 15k all together. So 1x normal attack +2 specials makes about 5k each wich is reasonable I guess.
Yup, but I haven't sold it yet. Put it up 3 times at 8 hours each, at 200/250. That's a lot higher than I'd normally post a blue weapon for, but the block rating seems to be fairly significant.
Sigh. Getting a group for pre-70 dungeons on this server. *shakes fist* :x
To be honest, its the same with most servers. Getting a semi-decent team to run Auch. Crypts for my Felsteel Gloves recipe took a lot of effort and bribery.
Briefly, for those who care but haven't been obsessively reading the thread, I feel much better about this proposed MMO/WoW merger now that there's been some official word on whether we'll have to condense all of our threads into a lot fewer to accommodate the MMO forum style (we won't).
It may give the CoH people a reason to post a few different AT guides. Which should be interesting. I haven't played the game in well over a year, but I still found certain aspects interesting.
I still say having a table of content sticky would help things a lot in the case of a merger but Thassatos acted like it would be a huge undertaking akin to alphabetizing the Library of Congress after an earthquake.

Lets see how things go once the merge happens. A ToC might be a good idea, but it may also be something we just don't require. As long as we keep threads labeled so that it is easy to find what thread you need there shouldn't be any problems.
Once things happen, if you want to put together and maintain such a thread, the MMO mods may agree to sticky it. Talk to them about it after the merge though.

Yeah, that was pretty much my only concern. The arguments for doing so were fairly uninformed. Imagine tring to keep up with a build thread for everyone. Why do you think the build sticky up top is dead? Because it's much easier to foster discussion on the nuances of a class in a separate thread. And these are...you know..discussion forums.

The block helps, but the biggest part is the +spell damage.
Another frequently used paladin tanking weapon is Continuum Blade. It's a rep reward and costs about 44g.

He really isn't worth getting up in arms about, I would be more worried about Tube, or the MMO/WoW moderators being negative about the idea. While he is a Super Mod, he probably won't be moderating the merged forum on a day to day basis.

Right, there are tons of weapons with that much spell damage on them, and few if any other blue ones that have block as well.

I geuss meaning no more talking about the WoW forum.
So I think "Wooh, a bot to punch until honor stops coming out!"
Got him once. That must have raised some kind of Bat Signal, because he suddenly turned un-botty and obviously had someone behind the controls.
The next time I attacked he killed me - and then died from my poisons.
Killed him one more time, and then kept on the other side of Firewing Point.
I miss Stormwind. Horde cities are so meh.

He is also wearing the Hypnotist's Stopwatch trinket. A hunter. C'mon.
He has a trinket with spell hit rating. It's use effect is to increase damage and healing.

I'm wondering though, if in this case it wasn't just a large normal hit followed in close succession by a crushing blow.
Clearly manually controlled now. Killed him when he was out of mana.
I like how he only has Skinning as a profession.
