WARCRAFT III

A game by blizzard, and it's expansion The frozen throne, possibly also by blizzard has long been considered a dark pit of despair and pain for any and all who enter.

But be aware ye traveller, i hope to gain enough mighty heroes (regs) to create a haven (channel: pa) among the death and decay of the spiders web (internet).

BUT WHAT IS THIS LAND OF WHICH YOU SPEAK?

Warcraft III is set in the lands of lordaeron, Azeroth, northrend and kalimdor. Many magical (Read: bloodthirsty and murderous) and mythical (Read: extremely killy) animals reside in these lands.
Another plague upon this landscape is the constant warring of various tribes and mans. Civil wars constantly erupt for no damn reason.

I WISH FOR EVIDENCE OF THIS MYSTICAL PLACE

And ye shall receive:
Epic battles!

More epic battles!

Elf chicks!

Death and decay!

WHO SHALL JOIN US ON OUR EPIC QUEST?

The list is below:

The Black Hunter (TheBlackhunter)
Dragoony?
Iowa?
Shankill Butcher
Spackle
Soviet Waffle (Same name, no space)
donotpursuelubu (I did, he killed me in one combo)
Wombat WombatPA
Imperfect Imperfect2k7
Repox Cereyx
You know what, screw this, apparently my masterpeice will die in a week anyway ;-; (SURVIVED A WEEK)

Join us in our adventures (Shenanigans) and save/destroy the world!

WHAT ALTERNATIVE METHODS OF WARFARE MAY WE PARTAKE IN?

I myself, have had a spot of fun in Footmen, and i am trying to find a group of likeminded individuals to delve into the labrynth of Warchasers. For the brave (Read: invincible to bad insults) you may partake in DotA.

Footmen:
Your units autospawn, and you earn gold by killing opponents. You can upgrade your units with the monies you earn.

Warchasers:
You are a poor soul, granted the body of a fallen hero as a vessel with which you can escape your doom by carving your way out of a dead city overrun by beasties and demons.

DotA:
A pit of anguish and insanity (Read: Idiocy)
Read the DotA thread.

WHERE TO RENDEZVOUS?

Lordaeron (USwest)
Channel: pa

Or for you server sluts, Azeroth (USeast) is also marginally active.

    Oh man, I'm in.

I was never anything but terrible at this game, but I feel a kinship with it.

I, too, am terrible at myself.

Taco Bell does win the franchise war according to the tome of knowledge that is Demolition Man. However, I've watched Demolition Man more then a few times and never once did I see WoW. In conclusion Taco Bell has more lasting power then WoW.

I wonder if this game on will last as long as the SC one, since it has a few of the same people now playing. Once my new computer arrives, I wouldn't mind trying it, except I've never once played online, and I don't have access to TFT.

I was in a store the other day and the fucking War3 battlechest was $50 Canadian. Same with D2. SC was $25. So screw that. Blizzard's online store says international orders may take up to 4-6 weeks, and it's still $40 American. THIS IS MADNESS! How can a 5+ year old game + expansion still cost this much? TFT alone costs $20, so we'll see. Maybe I'll be playing War3 in 5-7 weeks and ranting on there rather than here!

Warcraft 3 game ons usually only last about a week for some reason. Suprising considering how creative some of the UMS maps for it are.

To people who have lost their TFT discs: If it's already installed you can use a WC3:RoC disc to play.

    I play (Screen Name: SovietWaffle)

Game Ons don't last too long for warcraft because of how much more you have to learn for melee. Also, most of the customs aren't popular, except for DotA, which people already play (Clan GnT on USEast).

Hopefully though since the SC crowd is playing we can actually get a group together!
However, warcraft has something that is both amazing and terrible

Unfortunately one of the guys went afk halfway through. The rest of us died on the last leg of the rocknroll tank area.

Dota is basically a hero wars game, with three lanes, and various items to buff out said heroes.

If you're on just name a channel or such and I'll join you.

Oh now I'll HAVE to drop in and say hello. I just reinstalled WC3+FT last night on a whim.

I didn't get to B.Net though, so I have no clue what my eventual login is going to be. I'll update this post (and PM the OP) when I know.

I'm going to my local Can't Stop The Serenity and the Big Damn Shindig afterwards on Saturday, but as for the rest of the weekend, I'm free.

(Plus, I'll probably be drunk when I get back from the shindig, so I'll be easier to beat and more complacent about it.)

I've never yet heard about this Warchasers, though. I freaking LOVE custom maps. Can anyone give me more information about it? I'm at work and browsing WC3 sites is probably a no-no.

    DOTA!!!!!!!!!!!

    Defenders of the Ancients

You can pick from like 30+ heroes. You go out and creep and try to kill the other heroes whilst not dieing. There are whole bunches of items and shops. The game is EXTREMELY balanced. There are even pay to play tournaments. Lets to this shit. (When I get off work)

DOTA is kinda fun, but I wouldn't generally call it balanced while sober. It also has easily one of the worst fanbases in the enitre internet. Pubbie DOTA games will make you cry tears of blood.

Yeah, but that's why you have a bunch of your friends online with you at the time over vent. Pub games on your own are hit/miss. Especially if you suck, or are just trying to learn the damn game (the whole thing is really dependant on knowing what items to get for what character, and in what order.)

Another of my favourite types though, is Element TD. Oh the memories <3

Reinstalling wc3/tft as we speak. One of the many games which was killed in the hd crash of '07.
