Taco Bell does win the franchise war according to the tome of knowledge that is Demolition Man. However, I've watched Demolition Man more then a few times and never once did I see WoW. In conclusion Taco Bell has more lasting power then WoW.

Oh right, a note: I recharged the guild runebook earlier this evening (so has 9 uses now), so feel free to use it to get places. I think the book's nearly full of marked runes already to a variety of spots. If it runs low on charges again, I put 44 newly scribed recall scrolls in the guild chest. So just take 9 and add em to the runebook to fill it up again.
I'll make more once I get around to getting the 2,000 gold it costs to find 100 blank scrolls + reagents.
i've only sorta tried UO but this thread has convinced me, I'll probly be in tomorrow depending on how long it taked me to download everything and figure out what to do

If you're a scribe why'd I make a scribe character?
I do both Alchemy and Inscription. At the time I was working on potions, but then you were talking about how we could use scribes, so I'm raising Inscription a bit more. I'm still only at 38 Alchemy and 36 or so Inscription, so you could probably advance much faster than me.
Yar. I'm slowly working my way up there. Valkun can make kegs now, so switching back to alchemy for a bit since nightshade is much cheaper than recall scroll scribing.

Ergander: Next to each skill you can choose to raise, lock, or decrease. So if you hit cap and decide, "Wow, X skill sucks" simple turn the arror down and turn the arrow up on another. It will decrease as you gain, I believe. I like to lock all my skills except what I want for my character.
Now also to add to this, you can re-do your stats doing this as well at skill cap. You can turn one of your stats to down and the other to up, and train the skill you want that benefits your desired stat.

I was going to say, you can't botch a char in UO, you can always change your stats.
Case in point, I like 100str, 100dex, and 25int. But after a day of recalling around the world to get some stuff done, I'll end up with 26-27int and my dex (usually) will go down. Totally ticks me off 'cause you can't lock those like the skills AFAIK.
Oh, and make sure you have the skill window showing you the true value of skills. Some will say "0.0" but actually be at 3.2 or something.

wake up to being PK'd in the locked room in the guild house.....
ahh, the beauty of UO
Hmm either he got into the locked room which, I thought was impossible. You can't pick those locks right?
I bet you got earthquaked
100 stealing
100 detect
100 snooping
50 magery
50 forensics
100 stealth
100 lockpicking
100 hiding
Uhm, since you don't have any major healing in that, I would say 100str and split dex and int with the rest.
My 360 is [strike]back[/strike] [strike]bricked[/strike] back!
What would forensics gain you?
His skills are not capable of being gmed.
What were his skills?
My 360 is [strike]back[/strike] [strike]bricked[/strike] back!
Well, I produced a new character, who will preferably have gmed-
Alchemy
Poisoning
Healing
Evaluating Intelligence
Taste Identification
Resist Spells
?-I was considering begging for amusement
Alchemy and poisoning are at 50ish
Also, I have 6ish lesser poison/poison potions, and 4-5 lesser heal/heal potions available
You can make your character decrease skills you don't want anymore.
Now also to add to this, you can re-do your stats doing this as well at skill cap. You can turn one of your stats to down and the other to up, and train the skill you want that benefits your desired stat.
It's time to diminish my skills
good day gentlemen

You can lock stats.......
Thanks again James! I hope to donate a chest or two to you!
