WW2 The Pacific Theatre....Where are the games?

This has always confused me greatly. We have so many games and mods dealing with the western front of World War 2. But I harldy see any games that chronicle the Pacific front. Has no one thought it would be cool to defend Bataan or recapture Manilla? Island hopping? There's so much information and background just waiting to be taken advantage of. Is it because of a fear of Japan's reaction to such a game? If so that's pretty hypocritical that it's ok to kill Nazis but not Facists.

I've been looking at the Crysis mod tools and since it has lots of jungles stuff available it would be great to make a Pacific Theatre mod with!

Carriers at War Just released! (www.matrixgames.com) Really cool! Command land, air and sea forces in the pacific theater as either side for the entirety of the conflict with individual pilots, ships and experience tracked.

looks cool, still there needs to be more Pacific theatre games
Pacific Storm is a theater-wide strategy game, kind of like the Total War series in that you control the movement of units in a world map, then combat in a real time environment, it also lets you fly any of the aircraft. It deals primarily with the naval and air aspects of the war -- I don't know how well it simulates the ground war. It starts in 1941, allows the player to conduct the war as they see fit, and develop whatever techs could've been available at the time -- A-Bombs included.
Uh...some screenshots:
It got some poor reviews, though.

nazis were fascists.

What? He's right. Hitler was inspired to a large degree by Mussolini.
Actually, I question the use of the word in reference to WWII-era Japan. Certainly the attitudes were similar, but I don't think you could actually call the government under Hirohito a Fascist regime.
Silent Hunter IV came out recently, and it's set in the pacific -- it's a submarine sim. I haven't actually tried it yet, but I did play number III which was set in the Atlantic, and it was sweet.
Graphics are really nice too:
Also, Battlestations Midway had a cool demo in my opinion, but it didn't get rave reviews and I haven't played the full version.

Are you sure that isn't a PHOTO? That looks really good. O_o

It looks like an amazing game but the lack of a demo and the fact that Silent Hunter 3 had Starforce attached to it and this one still has some not as spywarey DRM keeps me from considering buying it too much.

And from what I remember, Japan doesn't have much of a problem with the games:
Regardless, yeah, there's a lack of good WW2 games set in the Pacific.

It's too short, though, and not quite enough variety in the multiplayer department.
Silent Hunter IV is a goddamned masterpiece, though.
