Too big for just the music thread is the Glasto talk!

Guess what fuckers, I have tickets for tomorrow and Sunday. And Im leaving later tonight. BWAHAHA.

1.jpg

Yes it is a mud bath at the moment.

There are so many bands I wanna check out. The Who will be headlining sunday I believe. Goddam Arctic Monkeys and Bloc Party were on today and I missed em. Also, the Killers tomorrow should be alright. Then Im gonna spend pretty much the whole time in the indie booth area where unsigned bands can perform. Friend did that a long time ago and said it was great. Plus, you have the chance of being there when a huge band is born as it were so you can say you were there from the beginning way back when.

Watched Kasabian live today on TV and they were cool.

Arcade Fire were also apparently amazing.

Also definet gutted at missing Tokyo Police club on the john peel stage today.

Does anyone care enough for me to make a proper OP detailing what glasto is or can we jump right into the dicsussion cause goddam evereyone knows what it is.

Here is the full list of bands on which stage at what time

Nearly the entire festival is being broadcast on the BBC which is now officially running things. Annoyingly though they have that bitch Jo Whiley presenting and shes so annoying.

Still, if you dig around you can almost certainly find live stream both audio and maybe video highlights on the BBC website, and definetly will be able to listen again from Radio Ones site on there, but that's legwork you need to do.

I don't really care for any of the bands playing there.

    Except of Gogol Bordello.

My brother went to this one year while he was doing grad school at Leeds. He kept his bracelet-pass on for like a year after it was over. Paul McCartney was there that year, I believe.

is that tent swamp an image from this year? what is the story behind it? that's fuckin ridiculous

    also: so many security guards

and the fans are miles away from the stage

the whole thing looks like a clusterfuck, really

rank its one of the premier festivals of the world

but i think coachella is better

    I know!

I mean, they got a god damned circus there! No shit, a whole area full of fucking circus performers!

Plus movies playing, an absolutely retarded number of stages, on and on and on.

I'm a little surprised, in retrospect, that they don't have standup comedy there.

to be fair that vast majority of that "list"

is all sorts of "acts" not necessarily straight bands or musical acts.

also most of it is shite. there's only a couple important stages or venues there. pyramid's the main one, obviously

ori's modding is stupid and arbitrary and based on no actual rule system but rather wind patterns and astrology.
