Pre-trip emergency: Must have PSP Games?

GnomeTankGnomeTank What the what?Portland, OregonRegistered User regular

Okay, the title says it all. I leave on my honeymoon cruise tomorrow and I need to know what PSP games I absolutely must have.

I currently have:
Metal Gear: Portal Ops
GTA: Liberty City Stories

What else do I absolutely need to go buy before we take off? Are there any must have RPG's? Besides the Valkarie one (I forgot the name). I wasn't a big fan of that game.

I don't have a PSP, but it seems to me you can't go wrong with the Sega Genesis Collection.

It's got a couple old RPGs on it too, if I'm not mistaken.

Dear god I would love to sig that but you guys still dish out decent traffic threw my current sig. :P

As for PSP games importing Tactics would be something I'd be all over if I had a PSP, god knows if I had one I couldn't wait for the release over here anyway. Could barely follow our translation in the first place anyway.

Tales of Eternia. Best RPG, if not the best game for the PSP.

Oh shit, I didn't realize it was a honeymoon cruise.

Yeah, you probably shouldn't bring a PSP. There is a shitload of stuff to do on a cruise, much less a honeymoon cruise. It'll wind up being a $150 liability that could be stolen.

    *blink*

You're leaving on your honeymoon cruise. The only thing I would suggest playing is YOUR WIFE, that is, if you plan on remaining married.

Seriously, this is time for the two of you to enjoy wherever it is you're going. You don't want to waste the beautiful, fun times with your head in an RPG. That's not going to create memories for a lifetime. The game system will still be there when you return.

    Edit: Hell, I'll sig this.

Guys, my wife and I have lived together for four years. It's not like we are newlyweds really. We are going on this cruise to relax and do our own thing. So yes, I am taking the PSP. Thanks for the game suggestions so far.

Well, to each his own, but have you ever taken a cruise before? The last cruise I took, I didn't have enough time to do everything, much less play a PSP.

Yes I have. We have quite a few days out to see where I plan to spend much time in the atrium, on a lawn chair, with a stiff drink and my PSP.

Unfortunatley, I can't find Tales of Eternia ANYWHERE. Doubt I will be able to pick it up before tomorrow :(

Yah, the reason I won't be spending the entire time having sex is that we have been having sex for four years. It's nothing new to use. Will it occur? Of course, probably several times a day...but we aren't freaked out horny teenagers who have to bang all day.

So, I am going on a search for a rare video game dealer in Houston now, to see if they have a copy of Tales of Eternia available import-style.

Yeah, but he lives in Houston and leaves tomorrow. Unless they can airlift it to the cruise ship, I really doubt he'll be playing it on board. :V

But man, if it's anything like the cruise I went on a while back, you'll be too busy with the 24-hour buffets and whatever other fancy nonsense they've made available to worry about the PSP.

Oh bah. Even if they doesn't have a flight to the cruise, there will be plenty of downtime where both of them have little to do and will read magazines/watch TV/listen to music. And there's only so wild monkey sex two people can have on a honeymoon trip, especially when you want to actually sit outside or soak up some sun.

I actually brought both of my DSes on our honeymoon to Greece, solely so that my wife would have something to play as well. Given the hours on the plane and on the ferries to and from islands, New SMB and Mario Kart had shitloads of playtime. This is, of course, in between the sessions of wild monkey sex.

To the OP's point: Lumines and Wipeout Pure are two launch titles still worth playing. If you're really jonesing an RPG take Target's advice and go with the Genesis Collection -- Phantasy Star II, III and IV alone are worth about three times the retail price.

There is one on the south side of houston in League City, Texas. It's called "Video Game."

It's located at the corner of 45 and 518. I don't have the phone number, unfortunately.

Alternatively, try fry's on south 45. They sell a lot of imports there. I know of a bunch of other video game stores, too, mainly in south houston. Where are you at?

Hmmm...4 years together plus honeymoon...that sounds ALOT like my situation. Me and the wife got married in January after dating for like 8 years. We both brought along our ds's (my phatty her lite) and there was no conflict there. I will be honest sir, RPG's seem to be too time consuming, I recommend a burnout, maybe a sega compilation, Loco Roco was a joy. I did the whole stiff drink by the beach and the setting is so nice you'll find yourself running back to room for a bit every so often. I say, stay away from the games that require massive amounts of attention, get yourself some pick up and play stuff going, something you won't have a problem replaying a level incase in the middle of it you decide to hit the pool, or the buffet, or...you know.

Yeah, Dracula X is fucking awesome. 2 routes, fucking awesome sound track, 2 playable characters. Plus some of the best bosses in the series - there's one level that's a run of Medusa, Frankenstein, The mummy, and then a mad scientist. All back to back. This comes right after the level where you fight the grimm reaper on a ghost ship.

    Awesome game.

A fun puzzle/platform game with a cool 2d/3d back-forth thing. Fun and different, although the levels get too frustrating too fast (could be just that I suck though).
