I've got it, and love it. I loved Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, and this feels like a proper sequel. For those that don't like it, what about it don't you like?
The QW CE is at game in the UK for £19.99 I'm really tempted as I did enjoy the demo, but still have a huge catalogue of games I'm not playing enough/not started/just about to come out
After much indicision, I decided to take the plunge on the steam deal, even though I probably won't have much time to play it with all the other games coming out this month.
I finally tried this game out today after allowing the disc, which was included with my video card, to collect dust on the corner of my desk for a month. I'm usually not a huge fan of "Battlefield 2 type" games, but I could see some enjoyment in it. The game feels overly complicated though, the servers that have a lot of people always seem to be huge clusterfucks.

This is how I feel. The objectives aren't clearly laid out, and sometimes objectives change without you noticing. "A little too busy" is the issue here I think.

It's been so long since I've posted here, I've removed my signature since most of what I had here were broken links. Shows over, you can carry on to the next post.
Somebody make a Game On for the PC version. I probably won't play a ton what with CoD4 multiplayer and Mass Effect on the horizon but I've gotta find some way to entertain myself without involving the television before my girlfriend goes into reality TV withdrawl.
Hmm, I thought the objectives were always VERY clear, both on the map and the HUD overlays and in the text lists. And the objectives changed depending on your class. Can't ask for much more than that.
I'd own this already if it weren't for TF2. ETQW strikes me as a very competent game, but it doesn't have the flair of TF2. It's too bad, because it's a really good game and I enjoyed the demo a great deal. (And like I said earlier in the thread, some kind of persistent character attributes would be nice, especially since that seems to be the direction BF-style FPSes are going.)

> turn on light Good start to the day. Pity it's going to be the worst one of your life. The light is now on.

It was more an issue with how you actually have to use the map, and even expand it at times during battle. This can get in the way since the game is so hectic at times and you can easily get killed while reviewing your objective if you aren't in the green zone.
But that's really my only beef with this game. Other than that, it's actually damn good considering the lack luster and disappointing reviews I've read. It's like an amalgamation of UT's fast paced battles with Battlefield combat.

:PWhat I love (and hate) about this game is that it actually requires true team work. If you're missing a class or if people are off goofin around you WILL lose. What's frustrating is you have a good chance of being on a team of idiots....

it is just amazing when you have a team that actually works together, like you will be stunned because of how awesome it is.
I think when it gets to the point after a round or two, when the team starts getting into a groove, it almost becomes a sort of meditation. With everyone knowing where to go, and what to do, it's heaps of fun.

Just picked this up yesterday after prying myself away from TF2.
This shit is great. Ill never forget the first time I saw a Strogg orbital laser wreck everything in front of me...never.
