missing computer information

I'm aware i may not get my information back but i have to ask if anyone could help.

Someone in my household turned off the switch one night while the computer was on and there were times where i had to force the computer to turn off by holding the power button down when the computer freezes or turns pitch black when logging off an account (XP edition - 3 users)

So when i switched back on the computer and found that everything was erased. i took the steps to program xp edition of the computer. But the strange thing is the picture of the user ids were left and information placed under "all users" has remained, but everything else has been deleted.

Could anyone give me tips to get back my information because i have a 200 GB hard drive and when i completed the reprogramming of the computer i went to the HP Pavilion C: drive and it showed about 10 GB of free space from the 200. Where the hell did my information go?! Please if anyone has any idea please help.
