My anticipation for this game is only eclipsed by my planet-sized boner for SSBB.

It will be nice to have a polished, 'real' game for the Wii. Sports are great, Mario Party is great, but aside from TP there aren't a lot of games I am too immersed with when I'm not with a bunch of drunk people.

You know what I just realized guys?

I, for some reason, totally missed playing MP2. I loved the first MP, how did the second one totally fly under my radar?

I need to see if I cant dig up the game somehwere so I can not be out of the story line.

MP2 had nothing to do with the MP storyline
    O_o

Edit: Eh, maybe that's not quite as odd as I initially thought. But it's still kind of weird.

Wait, the games storylines have nothing to do with eachother? As in MP3 will take place after MP1? Or will MP3 be a stand alone story or something?
I think he means more that Prime 2 is more of a side story, the and the primary "plot" isn't strongly connected with Prime 1's. Still, Dark Samus is rather important.
I don't understand how Dark Samus got from Tallon IV to the planet in Prime 2. Or why. If it was following Samus, then why did it seem like it had already gotten to the planet and set up shop in the dark world before she even arrived?

    The queen?

    You mean Prime?

    Man.
Dark Samus is Prime. Prime absorbed Samus' Phazon suit at the end of Prime 1. It's not explicitly stated but it's more than obvious.

It is made pretty clear if you 100% Prime 1. You get a little bonus movie at the end showing:
a pile of phazon-y goo left where you defeated Prime, and then out of it is thrust a black arm like Samus' suit's left arm, but the little circle light thing on the back of it opens and is a sinister looking eye

    What? Oh. Shit.

We're talking about the entire Metroid series.

I thought Chen meant the creature that Metroid Prime was named after.

edit: Absolute0 I know what you mean. I don't even have a Wii.

edit2: Bahamut, I got that little bonus video. It freaked me out when I first saw it. I never 100%'d Prime 2 though. I had 1 energy tank and 2 missle expansions left. I know what happens in it though.

I never played 2, but the thing at the very end of Fusion was called an "Omega Metroid," right? Is the queen one of those or something else?

Anyway, all the metroids on SR388 or whatever its name was are dead.

Omegas are a step down from the Queen.

It goes Larvae (standard Metroid), then Alpha, Beta, Gamma (Are there Gammas? I can't remember) then Omegas I think. Then the Queen. Prime is just a mutation so it isn't in the growth line.

It would be cool to see remakes of Metroid II and III. They do come after the Prime games chronologically.

there was something in Hunters that looked like mother brain, it wasn't an enemy, just part of the environment, but it sort of suggested that giant brain computers are not a unique technology in that universe.

3 needs no remake. It is perfect.

seriously, I've loved every Metroid even MP2. I just cannot get enough Metroid and Castlevania. the funny thing is my old boss loved 1 castlevania and 1 metroid. He would play a new iteration once it came out then give up on it fast like. He would always tell me "it's just the same game I played over again". He's absolutely right, but something about them drives me to play them and they're always tons of fun when I do. I am all kinds of excited for 3 in hopes that it even further makes MP feel like a true Metroid game. Prime 1 and 2 did a fine job, but it could go further too.

Now, I hear there is stacking weapons? like you don't switch from freeze to something else but rather you stack freeze onto any weapon you have? remember super metroid with the freeze wave plasma? yeah, that shit was hot. I'd love to see some new gadgets too. Like the boost ball was really cool.

Every Metroid needs a map, the games were way too huge for no maps. I can understand not wanting the map rooms though.

I just aced Ninja Gaiden 1 with no issues (a feat I couldn't pull off when I was at what I thought was my gaming peak) but DAMN...Metroid Prime 2 is harder than I thought it would be.

I mean, there are like 4 bosses I swear to God I never want to fight ever again (Hard Mode Unlocked? FUCK THAT). Aside from that, I really digged the Spider Ball puzzles this time around (I felt they were a bit underused in MP1) and the whole atmosphere in general.

    Seriously can't wait for MP3.

Dark Samus just wants phazon, so she follows it, and aether had just got hit by a phazon meteor, that created the dimensional fuck-ups.
Hopefully Prime 3 will clarify the origin and purpose of the phazon.

Aether had phazon. Dark Samus fed on Phazon.

Ergo, it goes somewhere there is phazon.

A major is issue is HOW Dark Samus got there. The only semi-reasonable explanation I can think up is that she used a Space Pirate ship.

Aside from that, is anyone else annoyed when they scan one and their species/classification is "Space Pirate"? For the name of a species? Really?!

If Kirby GC can come back from the dead (according to IGN, anyway), then Dread stands a shot.
