yeah, and that happened, but like i said, im in a completely different area, and the message only says where to go, not how to get there. after not playing for a couple months, its pretty daunting.
edit: reading a faq, i guess i beat the stone boss after the sheegoth and got the wavebeam and the spiderball.
That's weird, I thought Prime's map was awesome. The elevators were clearly marked, and you could just go through the rooms on the map, planning your course. My best advice if you're totally lost is to find the nearest elevator and get to it. That should be reasonably familiar, and should put you in a good orientation spot for planning.
Do you need shitty multiplayer that much that youll pass on what is likely to be a great singleplayer game because its only singleplayer? I never even touched the multiplayer on Prime 2, and I myself am glad they didnt bother devoting any development time to it on this one.
I'd rather they did a seperate proper multiplayer game with it, like Hunters for the Wii, than shoehorn in a mediocre version of it to a primarily single player game.

Metriod Prime 2 really was not all that great to me, and 3 looks to be just like 2. Unless they make some dramatic changes in the Direction/Story of the game I am not going to care. Sorry, that is just how I feel about it.

... Yes, clearly we all know exactly what the game is going to be like from a few screenshots and a single video.

"Just like 2"?
In what sense? I mean, I'd really like to know, because so far, MP3 looks pretty damn different from both 1 and 2.
ill give it a shot, but to be honest, i dont even know what i just got done doing in the game. i thought it was the giant sheegoth fight, but im nowhere near the phandaaran drifts or whatever.
i dont know what ill look up going forward if i dont know where im coming from. i guess thatd be my one gripe about this game and the main reason i havent tried echoes at all, because you need to play the game from start to finish with practically no interruptions, otherwise youre fucked.
Couple of ways to do it. One is to skim the FAQ for major upgrades (beams, super missiles, super bombs, etc) and figure out what you have and what you still don't and then go from there. Another is to just go by bosses which is kind of the same thing for MP2 iirc since nealry all your upgrades come directly from bosses who stole them from you in the beginning.
As far as figuring out how to get there look for the FAQ that gives decent directions and then have it up while trying to get to where you need to go next. After while you probably won't need it anymore as things start to come back but it'll really help in the beginning.

Well the graphics look the same for one, many of the visuals have not changed enough to really give me that "Oh look at the new game!" feel. You have that evil Samus back again and just christ, it looks like Prime 2. I don't see much of a change really and the creators seem to be avoiding talking about the Story and that makes me think they are not focusing on it. Just not my kind of game I guess, I dono...

Just wait till you've played it. I've played the demo about last year.
It felt completely new. Now that you can rip shields off of bad guys with your nunchuck, and rip doors off their hinges.

You're absolutely entitled to your opinion; that said this game will be a significant departure if only for the controls. Story is nice in a game but its absence is hardly a deal-breaker; if it's fun to play then

Yeah, it had it, wasn't that great. Not even close to as good as MP: Hunters. I think the lock-on system it used just wasn't well suited to multiplayer.
On the internet, it's very hard to convey tone of voice and things like that, which are usually the clues that one is being sarcastic. The closest you can get is by emphasizing certain words with italics or bolding. And that still probably wouldn't have been able to clarify your post.

And still nothing about an Euro release date beyond "Q4"
I'm tempted to play MP2 again, since I gave up at the key hunt and never finished it. The rest of the game was quit enjoyable, if a little strange.
Seriously, they need to make a multi-player only asskickfest, they have the makings of a good war scenario with PvPvE. I mean, we need space fed vs hunters vs pirates with some big ass alien monster rampaging about, maybe a mother brain unit thrown in. Assaults on research labs, space stations, pirate hideouts, capitol ship hijackin', sorry ass poor backwater planets which happen to have some obscure ultra power source. Technologies based on metroid research, chozo tech, phazon radiation, effing spaceships, gawdamned spiritual oddities, come on Nintendo/Retro, green light this stuff!
Why not?
I'd propably even pay full price if that's what it takes to support free online play.

Hells yeah. Sign me up.
I'm sure if Retro put all their efforts into a 100% multiplayer game, it would be fucking awesome.
However. I'm sure by now Retro is sick as shit of making Metroid games. I hope they get to make an original title next, give em something totally different to work on to keep their creativity from stagnating.

That is a shame.
Any on console Multiplayer like Prime 2?
Nice! But who's that chick on the side? Is that Metroid's girlfriend?
None. Single player only plz.

The aiming is about as dead-on as RE4:WE.
