Wireless adapters and switches and stuff

I own a "TW100-S4W1CA" TRENDnet brand router that I was using as a switch in my dorm.

Basically, I did: ethernet from the wall --> LAN port in the back, and computers --> LAN ports in the back. That seemed to network everyone together and also supply the intarweb to both computers that ran on it.

Now, I moved for the summer, and I only get wireless in my room. I went out and bought a D-Link DGL-3420 which takes a wireless signal and poops out an ethernet connection. When I go D-Link --> my computer's ethernet port (what I'm doing now), everything is just dandy.

When I go D-Link --> LAN port on the router/switch, and Computer --> LAN port on the router/switch, I get no internet. I am also unable to reach the config page for the D-Link thingy.

What am I doing wrong, and how can I get wireless to multiple computers?

Is there an 'uplink' switch on your router?
