It was Red Machine D, also known as Diamondback, also known as what the hell kind of comic question is this?
We all know about Rip Hunter's little "No one can know my real name" thing. However, with him being a star of Booster's new series I'm betting that we're gonna find it out eventually.
My theory?
He's part of the Carter family line. Probably not Booster or Daniel, but one of their sons or grandsons.
Anyone else have any ideas?
I've been mulling over this idea that he is (surprise!) Ted Kord. And this isn't just me and my Ted Kord boner. He's a genius superscientist and skilled adventurer, and what better way to hide your identity than being legally believed to be dead? As for his appearance/voice, maybe it just changed over the years. A few broken noses here, a couple of cyborg implants there, a change of hair color, a beard, and the ravages of time and he's a totally different person. But what really gives me hope for the idea is just that Ted is one of the very few people in the entire DCU that would believe in Booster enough to entrust him with the survival of the multiverse. There were better, more capable also-ran heroes out there, but for some reason Rip trusted one of the most mocked and derided superheroes of the past few years to help him save all of creation. Plus, I just love the idea of Booster trying, and failing, over and over again to save Ted, only to finally find out that he did it a decade from now, and has been adventuring with him for years as Rip Hunter.
Though I could have sworn that there was something in The Kingdom which heavily hints at Rip actually being Booster himself.
It's possible, especially with Ted's seemingly major role in the series. It would make sense. Of course, it could also be the kid he saved, a carter, or some other twist.
So, I've been reading through Kevin Smith's run on Green Arrow (which is absolutely fantastic), and at one point,
Ollie goes to "an aspect of Heaven" and sees Jason Todd swinging around.
This popped up a question in my mind that I guess is kind of trivial, but something I'm curious about, nonetheless. How old was Jason Todd supposed to be when Superboy-Prime altered history and brought him back from the dead? Was that supposed to have happened soon after his death, leaving a fair bit of time for him to be recovered by Talia, or did it happen closer to the events of Infinite Crisis?

Quiver was awesome. It went to every aspect of the DCU.
I think that what happened was that he died, x number of years passed, walls get punched, jason todd-as-not-clayface happened and jason todd was alive again, at the age he would have been had he not been killed.
Does that make sense? I think it does, let me know.

I just finished it.
So, so, so fucking good; the writing was at a really impressive level.

Yeah, that makes sense, though I'm not really sure what the Hush story has to do with it.

It may tie into a fight somewhere down the line.
I was on myspace, and that video of him falling off the machine was on the featured videos section. I had forgotten it completely, and it made my day.
Now, on topic, exactly what is the reading order of Sinestro Corps War? I feel stupid asking this, but I bought the first special, and I didn't know where the war actually starts.

Jason got buried, came back to life, dug his way to the surface, collapsed from brain damage, lived with hobos on the street, got taken in by Talia, trained, and then sent away
So it was only a few days/weeks after he was buried

In the 90's there were a few "Alien" themed comics. I'm not sure whether they were all Alien VS Predator or not... But does anyone know if they were any good?

There were quite a lot more than a few. And I'm pretty sure they started sometime in the 80s.
Look up Alien (or Xenomorph) in wikipedia and then find "in other media." Dark Horse has printed a crapton of Alien comics over the years.
I'm sure some of them were good. There was a Mike Mignola one I keep meaning to find.
They basically used it to kill off 90% of the team and end the book, which was a surpising amount of continuity effect from an Aliens crossover. But with Wildstorm rebooted they've brought them all back to life now anyways.
Is any new (god willing) DCAU stuff going to continue with Kevin Conroy as Batman? I know The New Frontier is using a different voice cast, but I thought that might be due to the fact that it's more of an adaptation of the original. Still, not him Batman is strange after all these years to pound his voice into the idea of the character for me (The Batman doesn't count).

As of now, no.
and the DCAU just contains all of the Timm/Dini stuff, which is done. No more.
The Batman, Teen Titans, LoSH and all of the DVD movies aren't DCAU.

I thought Teen Titans was iffy. Being that it was produced by Timm and shared a few of the same voice actors.
Has anyone read Powerless? It seems pretty cool. Peter Parker, Matt Murdock and Logan are the main characters, but they were never superpowered. However, Peter still clashes with Norman, Matt does battle with Fisk in the courtroom and Logan is still amnesiac and a wanderer.

Nope, it's been officially said that it's not in the JLUniverse.

I may pick up the trade.
i actually thought it was really unsatisfying. the main character is actually this psychiatrist, not any of the actual superheroes, and...i dunno. it's just not much fun.

Don't recall. During 52, I was kind of hoping Rip would end up being Daniel, who was trapped in the time loop in Rip's lab.

Agreed. Think of it like a rollercoaster... one that has a huge hill you climb up... and, seeing how big that hill is, you know the drop is going to be awesome... but, instead of a drop, the track just levels off... then it stops and you get out.
That was Powerless for me.

I have a friend who is trying to sell some of his comics and wants to know what a good online price guide would be for him to use as a reference. He is currently using http://www.comicspriceguide.com/ but has a problem in that one if his comics isn't listed. He has http://gjeanmarc.free.fr/vo/amazingspidermanv1/101.jpg the one on the right and can't find a price for it on the list or a listing of it on e-bay though he can find one for the color version and it's apparently worth a bit. If any of you guys know where we could find a price list that would include that or know about the price of it your help would be appreciated. He says he has a couple other spider-man and fantastic four comics that have covers like that too and can't find the prices.
Also if anyone could tell me why the difference there it would be nice since he doesn't know and it makes me curious.

Yep.
But more specifically, thus far it's been: Sinestro Corps Special -> Green Lantern #21 -> Green Lantern Corps #14 -> Green Lantern #22

Fuck, That's why I was thrown off. I didn't even look in GLC, just in GL.
Also, I did see the 1st issue marker after I posted this. I'm dumb.

The producers joked that it was on Earth-T.

They spent time in far future or an alien world or something. You'd think they would have gotten the gap between that kid's teeth fixed.
He looks like a super-steroid midget Dave Letterman.

I believe it was a small lead in / tease to the upcoming reformation of the Injustice League.
