I have a friend who is trying to sell some of his comics and wants to know what a good online price guide would be for him to use as a reference. He is currently using http://www.comicspriceguide.com/ but has a problem in that one if his comics isn't listed. He has http://gjeanmarc.free.fr/vo/amazingspidermanv1/101.jpg the one on the right and can't find a price for it on the list or a listing of it on e-bay though he can find one for the color version and it's apparently worth a bit.
It's pretty obvious that the one he has is a REPRINT, and therefore worth LESS (not WORTHLESS, but worth LESS) than the original $.15 issue.
Comicspriceguide is an EXCELLENT place for stuff; I used it to help parse out my collection.
I just looked here on Comics Price Guide, and if his is the silver-ink version (101 A, 1992 reprint of the classic issue in silver), it is worth about SIX DOLLARS.
Because I've got a box of old stuff, including X-Men #1(I'm not sure if the original x-men series was just x-men or not, but it's that one) and a bunch of Sgt. Rock and the such.
Should I bother trying to sell them? They're mostly in fair condition.

If you had the ACTUAL X-Men #1, you would know. eBay is where most people look still.
You're better off listing a complete series than listing individual issues, depending on how much those actual issues are worth.

Well, I mean, it was buried in a box of old comics from the 60s-70s-80s that my dad had. It's the first issue of the original series. Is that actually rare at all, though?

No. Please send it to me for $1. I'll give you my address via PM.

Ebay turns up at least $500. I wonder if anyone here would actually buy it for that price. Should I put it in my sig or something?
You know, I just can't bring myself to hate on Liefeld. I started reading Marvel comics in 1992 and kept on reading for the next four years, which were the years that he was pretty hot at Marvel. Shit, I was all over X-Force when he started it and I still love the book. The greatest artist he isn't, and he definitely started some trends that too many people copied (omg shoulderpad hell), but I still think he's done some good stuff.
Why does his Captain America shield look so weird most of the time.
With the dimples.
It used to belong to Shirly Temple, the real Weapon Zero. It was decided that she was too precocious and adorable to strike fear into the heart of the Nazis, so they turned to Steve Rogers, and history was made. The shield, though, still recalls its true owner. True story.
Man, that's like the silliest shit I've ever posted here.

I thought the silliest shit you've ever posted here was "Hudlin is a good writer."
Well yeah, I know all that. It'd be rather annoying and unsettling to get banned or jailed for jokingly saying a word that's not against the rules, though. I guess I need to scour the rules to make sure I'm not caught out, but I'm almost certain that'd be unjustified. :?

score!
if only it was in mint condition
And if only there was someone willing to pay $8 for a mint condition copy.
There usually isn't; I list books on eBay at 25% of the CPG mint price, regardless of condition, and hope for the best.

This is one of the more bizarre exchanges I've seen. It seems kind of weird to be doing it on a forum.
Plus, Rags needs to use a normal size font. :P

Wow.
I hate Liefeld's art.
And it goes on with Liefeld arguing with Newsarama posters. O_o
But this:

Just like Mai-Kero walks into the gay pr0n section at the video store: eyes wide open.
Hey, I couldn't let that go without at least a minimum response. :P
i hate it
I find it so ironic that, whilst hating one form of internet slang, you use the typical pseudo-grammar of internet slang.
Not just Alanis-irony, but actually ironic irony.
sometimes i don't use periods
what of it?
pornpornpornpornpornpornporn
Okay, I'm done now. :P
That was a pretty bad comeback. You should be ashamed of yourself
guess what i can do!
Hey, I never said it'd be a good comeback.
Also, Servo's the cheatingest cheater that ever cheated a cheat. I need to work the word pr0n into a sig image so it won't be so easy.
all glory to servo!
Maybe I'll change my name for a few days...
Although I guess maybe Mask didn't
SERVOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORN
