DnD at PAX Book questions

Hey everyone,

I am making my 2nd trip out to pax this year, and after being a bit saddened by the lack of representation DnD got last year, I am SUPER stoked to have duel style tournements going down.

But, I do have to ask one very important question. With the choice of core books and complete books, why was psionics completly skipped over. I can understand that it does add somethign to the field that you may have not originally anticipated, but I would love to see them, be as an option, or maybe an additional bracket that allows them, or something. Anything. I just crave a chance to try one of my lvl 20 psionic builds/ideas.

Its been a few months since I have been able to play DnD and this is just the spark that I needed to peak my interest. Now i just need to go get the new books.....Umm...new books.

I swear, I'm retiring from any game with the word 'Revolution" in the title. I must be the only person who breathed a sigh of relief at not being called for the Omegathon this year.

Psionics is about as overpowered as it gets. It makes things uneven.

I agree with Red Machine, though if Psionics were in a category of it's own and stayed a mighty distance from everyone else. Might be interesting to watch.

I'm all for anything that ensures more people take notice of this Duel

It must be nice to have had to oppertunity to play as psionics to see they are unbalanced. I have not been so lucky. Closest I got was as a DM throwing them at my players when they landed on a rather hostile island full of them. And thats not as much fun as running as a PC.

But Im ok with them being a seperate catagory, like psionics only, or maybe a large scale mixed catagory, or both. I like both. 5 catagories. I can imagine the hotness of it all.

    RedBeastMage:

The main reason psionics was left in the cold this year was that neither I nor my main co-judges feel comfortable enough with psionics to effectively police the builds and judge the duels! Sad but true. ::grins:: We don't use them in our campaigns, so we're just not that familiar with them. Another reason is that they would really need their own categories (Nonspellcaster Psionic, Spellcaster Psionic, Open Psionic), and I ran into a little bit of a time crunch when schduling events. If there is enough interest this year -- in other words, if enough people tell me "we want psionics!" -- then next year they will have their own category!
