Ok so lately my computer has been acting oddly, usually the problem happens when im playing warcraft 3 tft, the sound goes out and i have to play a muted game, and in order to get it back i have to exit the program. But lately the sound just randomly begins to get cut off for no real reason. i can be browsing on webpages and then my music will stop playing, and ill have to either close firefox, or log out of windows.
Ive done spyware searches, and virus checks, I was also going to just reinstall wc3 but then the problem began happening outside of the game as well.
Any idea why this is happening, and what i can do? Im not really good with computers and this problem just confuses me.
Another possibility is that there is an IRQ conflict between the sound and another device on your computer. Here's what this means: IRQs are what allow devices (such as a network adapter or sound card) on your computer to request some time with the processor to get some computing done. If two devices are given the same IRQ number then only one can function at a time. This can result in some seemingly random problems; e.g., you can't print when you're on the network, or your sound cuts out whenever you use your floppy drive.
Many times IRQ conflicts are easily identifiable because they're associated with actions like the ones above, but sometimes it's a little more tricky. Try to determine if any one action causes the problems you're encountering above. If not, it could still be an IRQ problem, but it'll be a little more tricky to fix.

Or maybe your soundcard is dying.
