so i woke up today and turned on my macbook to check my e-mail. Everything is going fine until I tried to select something by clicking on the trackpad's mouse. For some reason, even though nothing happened to it inbetween last night and this morning, it refuses to work unless you press as hard as you can. Is there anything I can do short of sending it in? I'm low on money and Apple charges a ridiculous amount of money to fix any of their products.
Hmm...I'm not sure when my warranty ends (it's soon) but I guess I can look into it. I just wish I had an explanation because literally nothing happened inbetween last night and this morning. It sat on my desk.
The nearest ones are like 45 minutes away
I should get it taken care of though...
The only thing is, it costs 4 dollars in toll to get to any apple store around here.
Yeah, I guess that's what I need to do. I'll try and take care of it as soon as possible.
Thanks guys.
( i'm going to be so pissed if they try to make me pay for this like they did when my second charger melted.)
You have already checked that it isn't just a settings issue, right? Even if you don't recall changing the settings before last shutdown, if you haven't checked yet do this:
System Preferences->Keyboard and Mouse->Trackpad->"Clicking" should be checked (if not, check and see if the trackpad is still non-responsive to taps).
If that is checked and the trackpad still does not work, then you're probably going to have to visit the Apple store and have a drink at the genius bar.
