so, uh

i have basically just got into mixing drinks

i can improvise a good whiskey sour in any kitchen where there are sufficient amounts of lemons, sugar, and whiskey

but otherwise i am lost!

so let's talk about COCKtails and maybe some COCKmixed drinks.

    even though mixing drinks are for pansy girls who can't stand up to the might of such hallowed drinks as straight vodka or straight whiskey

    I mixed some fruit punch and some vodka together to make what I call the sad, pathetic lonely drunk who had vodka and crystal light.

    I don't have time for fancy nice drinks anymore. I work nights now, so getting off work on nights I go out usually involves me missing out on all the pre-drinking, forcing me to pull off a handle while I'm running around getting ready at 11pm.

    okay do seriously none of you know how to mix a drink here

    this is a whiskey sour that turns out well most of the time:

    1 1/2 ounces whiskey (or bourbon, Scotch, Canadian whiskey, or Irish whiskey)
    4 ounces sour mix, recipe follows
    crushed ice
    1 maraschino cherry (OPTIONAL)

    Combine the whiskey and sour mix in a large old-fashioned glass with ice. Stir, garnish with cherry, and serve.

    Sour Mix:
    1 ounce lemon juice
    1 ounce sugar
    2 ounces water

    Combine lemon juice and sugar, then dilute with water and stir to dissolve sugar.

    Yield: 4 ounces

    uhh, that's the extent of my drink mixing

    In bartending class, the second hour was just make your own drinks at the bar while listening to music and hanging out. I made my first whiskey sour there. It was good.

    I had mojitos in Mexico. They were mexilicious.

    Also, really, it may be girly, or it may not be, but long island ice teas are good fun...

    equal parts vodka, gin, rum, tequila, triple sec.. then some sour mix... shake it up. pour it out. put a tiny splash of coke (TINY)... enjoy.

    Delicious.

    Whenever I go into a bar and want something different
    I'm always hard pressed to think of something new.
