Mouth Ulcers

So today I cleaned out my oven with a oven cleaner spray.

I accidentally breathed in some fumes, doc says Im ok though.

Thing is, now I have a large painful mouth ulcer on my bottom gum on the inside, so next to my tongue.

This is very fucking painful.

Anyone know of a method of getting these patched up/healed fast?

    Swish your mouth with heavly salted water.

    Or just to get rid of the pain, get a dispirin pill (not a capsule) and simply hold it against the sore, it will hurt a bit, but once it has fully absorbed (5-10 minutes) it will be numb for about 8-12 hours

    Get some topical numbing agent for your mouth like Orajel or something like that. That stuff is fantastic. A little bit will numb the area and you should be all good. Try not to get it on your tongue though if you can, it doesn't taste so good and feels weird.

    Another suggestion of salted water. It'll hurt like a bitch, but man up. There isn't anything else that'll fix it faster.

    Got this from a Health website;
    Treatment options
    Most mouth ulcers are harmless and resolve by themselves in a few days. Other types of mouth ulcers, such as the aphthous variety or those caused by herpes simplex infection, need medical treatment. It isn’t possible to speed the recovery of ulcers, but the symptoms can be managed and the risk of complications reduced. The range of treatment options includes:

    * Avoid spicy and sour foods until the ulcers heal
    * Drink plenty of fluids
    * Regularly rinse your mouth out with warm, slightly salted water
    * Keep the mouth clean
    * Take pain-killing medication, such as paracetamol
    * Apply antiseptic gel to the ulcers
    * Use a medicated mouthwash
    * Use steroid gels or tablets
    * Treat aphthous ulcers with anti-inflammatory drugs
    * Treat ulcers caused by the herpes simplex virus with anti-viral drugs
    * Treat oral thrush with anti-fungal drugs.

    I have an ulcer in my mouth right now, and I've been using a mixture of salt water and ginger on it. It's a bit painful, but it's going away real fast.

    salt water is a good fix. My mom had terrible canker sores and would use alum on them and it worked great for her. She also took acidophilus pills that she kept in the fridge, and she never had any more problems. I think there are about a billion home remedies for them, from vinegar to milk of magnesia, but I think the ones that are the most plausible are salt and alum, as they seem to have a diuretic effect on the sore. I'd stay away from alcohol and hydrogen peroxide based mouthwashes though, as they only inflame the sore even more, which doesn't exactly promote healing.

    I get these occasionally and I find Listerine works really well, especially if you start using it as soon as you feel one starting to develop. It hurts like a bitch but it helps.

    Another vote for salt water. Mouthwash is supposed to be good, too. Also, if you find it's painful to eat, try some soup. Salty soup.

    Another vote for salt water. Go to the drug store and check the toothpaste section for this stuff called Kanka. It comes in two varieties, a viscous brown liquid that you apply with the included swab, and a brush that you twish to dispense a gell into the bristles, and then you brush it onto your sore. I think the liquid version works better for sores anywhere your tongue may touch, because it forms sort of a film over the sore. The gel that comes in the brush version can get washed away more quickly, but it's easier to apply in areas where your tongue does not touch.

    Yeah, I get these things quite a bit...
