I just got iTunes. Unfortunately, it doesn't recognize my CD burner. Is there any way to turn off the automatic protection iTunes Store files come with? I'd like to use another program to burn my CD's.

every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

i think the new DRM-free songs will work, but I have not tried yet. I know it kills the you can burn this song X times protection, and I know they should work with any MP3 player, but not sure about working with other burning software. Also, have you tried re-loading/upgrading drivers?
