Okay, only two things need to change to make this freakin amazing-
1.Easier to tell who is on which team-Do they have to have the exact same camo pattern? last time i checked terrorists didnt have camo
2. I think that the rifleman, or maybe sapper class should be unlimited numbers of people, so noone ever gets stuck with a crappy class (RPG).

While I do agree to a degree that they should be easier to tell apart (I don't think they're overly hard to tell apart now, though they were at first, and I feel like friendly fire should be an occasionally unavoidable thing given the setting), they aren't wearing the same camo. Really, only a few insurgent classes are wearing much of a it, and they have different headwear than the marines. It's never really been a huge problem for me and I can't help but think the problem is being blown out of proportion or people really aren't very observant.

As for this... what? If you are able to get your hands on all manner of old Soviet firearms and RPGs, why would they be unable to get and wear camo? I'd think it would certainly be a good idea if they were going to be engaging in open fighting.
I agree that the rifleman class should be unlimited. However, this is mainly a problem on 32 player servers.
The devs have stated they didn't balance the game or the choices for 32 players, since they had trouble ever getting that many consecutive testers. On 16 or 24 player servers, getting a good weapon is not really a problem.
About TKing: It was the same way in the original Insurgency. When you first started playing, you tked a lot. You eventually learned how to tell NATO apart from Tango's, but before that, you tked a lot.
Now that this mod just came out, everyone's learning. Give it a week before you start asking for changes, at least in that area.
There are exactly 6 types of voices in source voicecom:
Annoying Kid
Kid/Girl
Generic Dude1 Generic Dude2-laid back
Generic Dude3-teen
Indecipherable tongue
Yep, bolded is me with a deep voice. I think it works out this way because of the sound compression and whatnot.
So I just played again and suddenly there was a hud indicating the location of the objectives as well as names that popped up over teammates when I aimed at them (that even told me the distance from them!)
I played a few rounds on a server with less than 10 players and it was awesome and very tense. I didn't even have much trouble confirming my kills. I think the game really suffers in servers that approach the upper teens in terms of number of players.
I played several great servers today where both teams were vocally communicating and fighting over objectives. Amalden is definitely my favorite map so far.
Anyone else ever get a weird bug or something when you change your class/weapon type and it gives you something completely different? I'd pick sniper and I'd spawn with RPG. I'd pick Riflemen and spawn with the Sniper sometimes. Fuck that was annoying.

Nato vs Tango? Are you talking about Hostile Intent for Half-Life 1?
I would like to see death stats. After I die, know who killed me and how many people I killed that life. Something to read and inform myself while I wait for reinforcement.

Well, i would think that most terrorists would wear plainclothes, to be able to blend in with crowds, regular people, etc. better. However, you are right, if they knew they would only be engaged in open warfare they would probably wear camo.
And I have a bit of a problem telling, might just be me though.
While I do love this game so far, I'm going to have to stop playing until the patch is released. The game has crashed on me at least 4 times in the last 2 or 3 hours.
How did this game compare to CS:S, graphically? Does it look better, or is it about the same?
I'd say about the same.
They are about the same, but there is a lot more going on with the Insurgency maps. Theres a lot of brush and places to go for cover. Compared to this, CS:S is a barren wasteland.

This is true, but keep in mind that it comes with a price. Some people (and somehow not everyone), experience huge framerate drops in servers with more than three or four people in them. I am one of them, and it makes the game near unplayable. My framerate will be at 60-150 FPS but drop to around 10 as soon as I step outside. The devs have acknowledged the problem and chalked it up to a quick and dirty fix they made the day before release, so hopefully it will be fixed come the first patch.
EDIT: And this is completely independent of graphical settings.
I get pretty decent framerate on these maps with lots of players. It can drop a lot when people start making explosions in big firefights, but it is still playable.
This is the only source game where I actually like having HDR Lighting on. I can't stand the way it affects my other source games. But it seems to feel right in this atmosphere to me.
I had a number of games tonight that were just AMAZING!
The Bagdad map is a hell of a lot of fun, and I played on a new map I'd never seen before.
The thing I love about this game, is that every fire-fight is intense. I had one where between and Insurgent and I. I was crouched behind a car, leaning out to shoot at him, and he was hidden behind a road barricade leaning out to shoot at me. Eventually I tagged him because I saw his gun fly fall to the ground beside the barricade. It was a great feeling.
Every time I shoot someone, and I know that I've shot them it feels great. And since you can respawn in this game (unlike CS) I don't mind so much when I suddenly die from being exposed.
I've also started filling up the Specialist team when the Small Arms is full. I'll always grab commander if I can and set and objective for everyone to follow. The only problem is a lot of times there isn't anyone in my squad or they don't know to follow the compass at the top.
Also, I can't wait for the first patch which will turn All Talk off my default. It'll be nice to only communicate with my team.
They really should just remove RPGs from the game if they aren't going to have vehicles or environment destruction... The shotgun isn't TOO bad. I did better with it than I did with the machine gun, that is for sure. I went on a little killing spree even.

That's more my experience.
I found it funny that the only time you knew the what and where of your death was when it said you got TK'ed by the asshole behind you
That would kinda defeat the purpose of the whole realism part.
In any case, friendly fire is something you can turn off from the server end.

fuck i don't want a fucking shotgun you assholes why are you making me take one
Seriously. They might as well give you nothing.
I've taken to TKing for AKs on maps with infinite insurgent reinforcements. This should not happen.
Yeah they should replace the shotguns, they're pretty much worthless.
Like give the USMC guy an unscoped M14, and give the insurgents an SKS.
Seriously, they need ONE class that is infinite.

I LOVE THIS MOD!
I kind of expected it, and am disappointed that they aren't in the game. It's like the Insurgents major way of "attacking" IRL.
reply to this
At least DoD has SMG's to use if riflemen were all used up.
Seriously! Where are the fucking MP5's!
Or whatever MP they're on these days.
