I can't believe how many of you aren't reading All Star Superman.

I prefer my Superman (and my Morrisson) with a little more restraint.

Like that recent story about Superman vs. Super Church Guy? :|
    ?

recent superman or action comics story

when was the last time the Johns/Donner Action Comics came out

it wasn't even great to begin with

    Thank Kubert for the lateness.

I'm enjoying it, but yes, we all know you don't like Zod and co.

Zod can be great when he isn't fighting Superman, if Liberty Files is any indication.

Whatever it was, I don't remember it. So no, thats not what I mean.

Up, Up, and Away is what I mean.

Or the DCU Superman which is pretty much my favorite take on him.

I also really liked Rucka's Adventures of Superman

Uncanny X-Men: A good issue. Now, I didn't read much of the prior arc, nor the first issue of this one.(I bought this just for Endangered Species.) But I am pleasantly suprised. I really like Warpath, and the Morlock plot looks to be interesting. The ending, while good, made me D:.
    B+
New Warriors: Also a good issue. Not as good as the first, but still quality. Night Thrasher's sales pitch was ten kinds of cliche, but everything else was pretty good. Tony Stark's challenge should prove interesting. The art is a bit more sloppy than the first issue, but still one of my favorites.
    B-
Thor: Holy crap. Seriously, Holy Crap. This was beautiful. Between Coipel's art and JMS's fantastic writing this is easily my book of the week. This is the perfect example of a set-up issue. Lots of dialogue, a little bit of action and a ending that doesn't dissapoint. Fantastic job by everyone involved.
    A+

I love Brubaker, it's just that I had other thing I needed to buy during his whole space epic.

Now that it's part of Endangered Species and subsequently Messiah Complex I'll be picking it up.

    DC COMICS

    MAY070125 COUNTDOWN 43 $2.99
    MAY070137 DETECTIVE COMICS #834 $2.99
    MAY070141 NIGHTWING #134 $2.99

    MARVEL COMICS

MAR072058 FALLEN SON DEATH OF CAPTAIN AMERICA IRON MAN $2.99
    APR072328 RUNAWAYS #27 $2.99
    MAY072156 THOR #1 $2.99

I've read all but Countdown and Nightwing already, and I managed to get my hands on Silver Surfer Requiem #2 after finding out it wasn't in my box last week. Thor was fantastic as everyone has said so far, as was this issue of Fallen Son.

I had read about some of the things that happened in Requiem, but the book didn't lose one bit of it's effect. The first two issues have been pretty gripping, and it's going to be a great send-off, if this is in fact the end for the Surfer.

Most of them aren't new I realize.

I'm broke right now, so next week I'll pick up Wolf-man(I can't believe I missed this, I was excited about it!), and maybe Thor.

Thor, All Star Superman and Uncanny were all pretty good, and I picked up last week's X-Factor, X-Men, and UFF, so, you know, awesome.

So do we think BKV was straight out addressing the readers directly, making it clear that we aren't going to get a more satisfying explanation for the plague? That was my interpretation.

I'd have rather received no explanation at all.

And the only problem I have with the one that was given is the fact that it doesn't account for the loss of all the males of every species.

I agree. I was awfully happy with the reveal though. The rest of the issue seemed kinda random, or simply a means to introduce some characters. The end at least let me know he IS working towards something with all this.
