You could go to a store and ask them about how much they'd give you. I'm not sure if they'd give you a quote over the phone, but I'm sure they'd tell you if you brought it in for them.

Which is pretty much next to nothing.

You're better off listing it on craigslist.

No way, we just dropped the trade in value by $100. I don't know what it is anymore, but it is definitely not worth it.

Just called my store and asked, it's $300 store credit, which means it would be $240 cash. And if that price drop that's rumored is actually going to happen, expect that to drop even more.

    I don't recommend it.

So was that $100 decrease was done before the price drop was leaked? If it goes any lower you would have to trade it to a pawn shop.

Did you guys know this drop was coming or was it supply and demand? Used PS3s don't sound like a risky purchase, unless there is no warranty available.

We didn't know about the price drop, we are just an extremely cheap company. Gamecubes just dropped to $10.

What's the new GCN price then, $60? I've got a bunch of BBAs and copies of Double Dash...

New is $100 I think, and currently a used one is $50, but that's just a promotion for right now.

Yes, I meant the new used price. $50 for another DD machine, sounds pretty neat.

Gamestop's used hardware prices are retarded.

Why the hell would I buy a used PS2 for only ten dollars less than a new one?

As some have already said: Trade-ins are almost always a ripoff. You're better off selling it on eBay or something.

Hell, trade-in values for ANYTHING at Gamestop are crap.

You're better off trying Ebay, Craigslist or Amazon marketplace for, well, just about anything. Even with shipping factored in it's more than worth it.

Depends on what promos they have running. When they do the extra 10-40% thing, that makes it a lot better, especially since selling on Ebay blows and can get you screwed via PayPal, and the other two methods take too long if you just want to get some new games.

    Fix'd.

Honestly, I can't think of one "good for the customer" decision I've ever seen GameStop make. Even when they have deals like "extra $10 in store credit if you trade in 3 games", it's still bending you over the goddamn table, because you end up being able to buy one brand new game from trading in three of your own, regardless of how new they might be.

I don't know, couple weeks ago on that big sale, I traded in a old GBA SP and got $40 in credit.

I wish I could find the charger cable for the other one i got hanging out on my desk right now.

But I agree, for most things, it's not worth it. Every so often though its awesome.
