I only have MS paint on my computer and i'm looking for a free art program (preferably less complex than photoshop) just to do a few things to images and to draw et cetera, even if it was only twice as good as paint with more fonts that would be suitable

anyone have any advice?

[if i should post this in G+T or AC that's not a problem but it seemed to fit here]

I can't comment on the complexity, but GIMP is the usual free suggestion. It's multi-platform, and they even have links to various tutorials.

(edit) Additional: How do I add new fonts to the Gimp?

I use GIMP, but I've heard Paint.NET is a tad easier to get the hang of. It's small, free, and looks like it does what you need it to.

There's also ArtRage - which is not exactly free, but you can't go too wrong with $20. Seriously.

    I really love this program.
