Problems with Ultimate Alliance

Recently I've "rediscovered" Marvel Ultimate Alliance and have been playing the shit out of the PS2 version.

But I've run into a problem. I started a new game+ (with all my old costumes and characters but all at level 1) and have recently gotten to the last part of the Asgard area.
I fight Loki, and everything goes just fine. No problems. He's a bit of a bitch to kill, but that's not a glitch.

So I go on and do the God Sword puzzle part. This is where I run into problems. No matter what, it seems to constantly trap me in the puzzle with 3 doors, where the sword hops into a door and you must follow it.
I'll find the sword, pick it up, and it'll teleport where it has to go, but then I won't go with it. This has happened all but one time I've gotten here. I am trapped in the room, as all the portals are locked off and the door does not open.

The one time it DIDN'T, and I actually got the Destroyer armor unfrozen, the portals did not teleport me anywhere. The doors closed, as if they were being sealed off, but the Destroyer Armor must have gone with them (and since I was stranded outside of the portal, I could not harm Loki and could not go on). Has anyone experienced either of these glitches? It seems to happen no matter what order I do the puzzles, and it's really beginning to bug me...

It's not like that, unfortunately. Not only do I have Deadpool, but the door itself is a completely different zone.

Each time, it reloads the area. So I can't simply teleport PAST the door.

i ran into 2 glitches in this game and it sucked. one was where my characters died except captain america died and he was stuck somehow in the level and wouldn't move. the problem happened again in another area. these were on the xbox.

and i remember playing on my friends wii wii and there was a boss that we couldn't hurt because he got stuck in some kinda weird loop.

dunno, its not a bug filled game but it does have some which is annoying.

I have this and I've only played it once real quick.

I don't have a real desire to play it on my own, and the current living situations of myself and my friends are all somewhat scattered and strange, so it's difficult to get us together to try it. So, I'm holding it....like some sort of future treasure, and I really don't intend to play it for quite a long time (possibly years...).

    Am I weird for this?

i know exactly where you are muffin, but that's never happened to me.
my only guess is to look up on the internets if this is a common problem. if its not, then its something youve missed. i highly doubt your 1 game is the only one permanently glitched out.
try kicking the shit out of the armor a bit more before the last room.

when you teleport into the last room, are there enemies in there with you to thrash with the shielded loki?

edit: i read that not all the time does it teleport you to the place you want. my advice is to try to break the game by not following the sword a couple times to the right rooms. just try to break the loop that youre in by doing the wrong things

From all the complaints I've read it seems jam packed with bugs, actually. I've had at least 2 myself.

Yes, because it is pretty fun single player. Well worth beating and unlocking everything.

I played the game twice through on two different systems, and I don;t recall any game breaking glitches. The only one I recall is when the music for a level suddenly stops. But then you go into the options and turn it off/on again and it works. So i dunno. All in all, a great game nonethelss... PLAY IT.

wife and I recently played back through Hard on the Wii, getting every thing possible on the stats tab of the review computer.. only bug we ran into was a hilarious one.. when we went to doomstark (the act 5 hub) it did the blurb from the beginning of cpt. america's comic mission and when I paused I had the option to end mission.. which I did.. and the game went along it's merry way w/o incident.
