See, I thought that anything immediately after the Kree-Skrull War was fair game as far as a replacement timeline went. I'm a little disappointed that it would be so 'recent', especially considering the events of the Illuminati miniseries. Bendis just needs to go balls out, and replace someone from the very start of their title. Some portion of the fan base is going to be upset as it is, you might as well upset them with style.

For the extra WTF factor, it should be Iron Fist.

That's fine, everyone knows that the Fraction/Brubaker/Aja IMMORTAL IRON FIST isn't happening on Earth-616, it's happening on Earth-Motherfucking-Awesome-Shit-On-Every-Page.

Upsetting the fanbase aside, I fail to see how any character having been a skrull for that long would in any way result in a 'good' story worth reading.

Well, I have no way of knowing if it'll be a good story beforehand - but for this sort of story, where it turns out that 'everything you know is a lie!', you might as go all the way.

Guys, in the new Initiative issue, we find out another Skrull at the base.
It's Crusader, the Skrull dude from the Freedom Ring arc in Kirkman's Marvel Team Up. He's even got the Freedom Ring. Oh, and he's apparently not part of the invasion either.

I blame whoever did that damn Sawyer song. Or did the llama llama duck one come first? Whoever it was anyway, it's all their fault!

I was actually going to make myself a signature banner on the same theme, but I figured the constant blinking would drive everyone nuts.

Oooohhhh, forgot about that! Yeah, that grated a bit having read (and enjoyed the heck out of) The Oath.

It's pretty small stuff though, in fairness. Overall I like Yu's style, and I'm usually a fan of the cleaner look of guys like Cassady and Cho. Then again I liked that really weird style they had in New X-men recently (don't remember the artist) so maybe I just can't make up my mind :P

You will never be able to have enough Skrull wenches. Speaking of, do you think they sympathetic Skrulls will launch an organized counter-attack led by Teddy? Maybe Xavin (she's Skrull oyalty, isn't she?) Possibly Jazinda (her father is leader of the Invasion)?

Yeah I've always fought with the idea of whether-or-not I find Xavin attractive or not with the whole sex-changing shape-shifting. I still haven't come to a conclusion yet. Perhaps I can finally decide when my roommate starts reading Runaways again with the Moore/Ramos run.
