Cave Story PSP [Homebrew]

I tried to do a search and couldn't find a topic about this, and I figured PSP owners, as well as Cave Story fans, would be extremely interested. I'm at work and haven't been able to test it out yet. Apparently it still has some bugs, but its just the first release and it looks very promising.

I didn't much care for the Bioshock review. It didn't deliver on the funnies like the previous reviews, but it wasn't bad.

The ending was very weak, though. Usually his videos have good endings.

Did you just review a review?

I found reVerse's review to be too short and a little light on content and quality. Still, his punctuation and sentence structure was better than most.

At first glance, looks like a wider viewing area. Not bad. Don't have a PSP, but not bad.

Portable Cave Story... so... fucking... awesome.

The game is pixel for pixel so the characters will look a bit tiny but the levels look HUGE.

I've been wanting a portable version for a while now. I was very excited to see this, and wanted to share the news. I was more than a little surprised to find no thread on it already, considering the love the game gets around here.

I was supposedly never a real thing, but more a mistranslation of something Pixel said.

That said you can still find the 'developers' website saying that they are making it.

    Edit:
"- Variant is a company of questionable repute (see: Mythri, and the other games on their site)

    - Nintendo NOT approving them as an official developer speaks volumes

    - The CEO’s “detailed” explaination [sic] of what happened fails to mention that the extend of his communication with Pixel was over a bunch of emails and Pixel did not agree to give them any source code but didn’t mind what they were doing under the assumption that it was going to be a freeware project. No money was offered or given because money was never discussed as an issue.

    - If Alpha willingly allowed them to use his artwork under the assumption that Pixel has “given his full blessings” to this project, he was misled.

    - At this point, if the english translation is used for this game, there WILL be a lawsuit."

So, how does one go about getting this on their PSP? Do I need to purchase items I wouldn't normally have for my PSP?

Instructions are detailed for anything past v1.5 firmware.

If your PSP is v1.0, just copy it onto your card's GAME folder and go.

If your PSP is v1.5, you need KXploit, a program that will patch it. Copy the patched version into your game folder.

Nope. It's all done via your memory stick and software tricks.

USB cable. Costs hardly anything, though, and you probably already have one.

Oh man, I was just about to make a LttP thread about this too.

I've been playing through it for the first time ever. I've been trying to avoid any walkthroughs, but I did remember something about
    jumping at the red dot
and found myself on the hard path. Man, I absolutely can NOT do the final dungeon now. I think I might need to restart and play easy mode.

Just going to confirm some things with you (HUGE DAMN SPOILERS):

    Final Cave
Is it the normal one, or does it have (hidden) after the name?

    If not:

    Polar Star
Did you upgrade it? Find the Gunsmith and talk to him, he'll give you an upgraded version called the Spur

    If not:

    Curly
Did you save her after defeating the core?

Those should help you out somewhat. Also, I beat
    hell
    a few days ago, woohoo.

What exactly made Cave Story such a good game. The story? The creativity of the world? The mechanics? The taste?

For me it was the story, the setting, the game itself, and the characters. You grow to like them and even get attached to them. It's very similar to an RPG.
