Has to be Nova #4, wherein:
Nova apparently gets extremely fucking dead. He looks like a piece of beef jerky wearing a melted centurion helmet. How the hell are they going to fix this?
I have to concur on Nova. The whole issue is made of awesome rolled in grape jello.
As to the end:
It said the "new" Nova was the medical officer for the group at the start. Now aside from Annihilation, I know nothing about Nova or the Nova Corps. But is it possible the womn can use the Nova Force in medical applications if the user knows how? Like a beefed up healing protocol that Richard has gotten the Worldmind to run throughout the series? Its the only way I can see this even remotely working. Good to see Worldmind jumping ship the minute hes in trouble ahah.
There is a list taking up half a page in very tiny font listing a bunch of artists he is apologizing to. I wonder why exactly.
During the issue in a journey through Frank's mental landscape, just about every panel for most of the book mimics the style of one artist or another. I am definitely going to make the Peanuts bit my sig.
Nova and Wraith were both awesome. Marvel is not fucking around with Annihilation:Conquest.
I'm going with the whole 'Nova is hibernating' theory - note that the Kree lady doesn't have the 'super' Nova uniform, but the standard Centurion uniform (also, her worldmind captions are blue instead of yellow). Also, Wraith = Man with No Name IN SPACE = Fuck Yes!. Oh, and that technovirus had better be reversible - Ronan and Gamora can't go out like that.
Man, seeing Citizen Steel in action in JSA was my moment. I didn't think he'd be that compelling or great, but this issue changed my mind. He is the least mobile superhero I've ever seen, and it's hilarious & sympathetic at the same time.
I did buy Madman, and while it was novel, it left me kind of flat. I like Allred's art a whole lot more than most of the people he was imitating. Also, the dialogue was kind of spotty.
X-Factor is really ramping up, though. Lots of character points in this one.
JSA: Edited cover! Lame! The issue itself was cool, though.
X-Factor 21: "If we, um, you know, does that count as..." "Sometimes it is better to be alone." (Paraphrased)
JSA: I wasn't liking Citizen Steel that much until that last two pages. Good way to end that issue. Lots of pathos, and really made me begin to care for the character.
Superman Confidential: The scenes with the Kents. I love the way Sale draws Supeman as larger than life, but gentle and child-like at the same time. And Cooke. I mean what can you say about Cooke, but that he's at the top of his craft right now?
Batman Confidential: Interesting take on the origin of the Joker, and I like it.

I didn't read any of the Newsarama stuff for Nova, so I was all

Those last few pages with him were the hook for me as well. At first he was just another cliche tragic character, who I figured would go the rest of the issue as being the -
"z0Mg I can't feel anything anymore and I can't even cut my wrists!!!"
kind of character, but then he seemed to enjoy kicking the crap out of Nazis.
Plus, we already have Damage.
And Eaglesham gets just as much credit as Johns, because his pencils are so damn good. Even his sloppy joe gunk rendering is top notch.
Fuck, he should draw JLofA as well.

Hal's "only fear" was fucking retarded
it was obvious
I was hoping it was, like, grizzly bears or something
Hey, whoever said bad things about the Deadpool and GLI one shot should die in a fire. I loved seeing Squirrel Girl meet the League of Losers. :^:
Also, WWH:Gamma Corps looks like its going to be more than just a cash-in book. Frank Tieri is bringing his cynical, bad guys as "heroes" A game to this one.
