help getting a job

I am an electrical engineering student who WAS working up in the oilsands for the last 2 months as an electrician. Unfortunately I had to quit and come back down to live in calgary so I could take a class (long story but the university is jerking me around).

So now, I have no job. Ideally I would like to work in construction of some sort but most companies tend to want me to work more then part time and that is all that I can put in because of school. I do have some experience as an equipment operator, landscaper, and I grew up on a farm.

Any ideas for what kind of jobs I can be looking for when I really only will be working for them for just over a month? I have been trying to find jobs as just a labourer, but it is relatively difficult for me to get a call back because of the time constraints (part time, and done by 4:30 m/w/th).
