There was 8 players that I reported for over a year before they were forced to change thier names
They had the following names: Imaundeadcow {an undead rogue} Deserie {a Troll mage they had a slash in the D} A'Kanna {A troll shaman I still don't know how they got that name to work for over a year}
and many others that escape me at the momment
The dumb thing is one of the people named thier blood elf the name they were forced to change
it was my only time reporting, but I'm pretty sure it was just opening a ticket or something like that and typing in the problem and waiting for a GM to contact you
I put him in my friends list and forgot about him, then noticed a week later that there was some dude named izuo on my list and remembered. I sent him a tell asking him what happened to his awesome name, and he said blizzard didn't like the special symbols in it. I've never talked to him before, and I wasn't even in the same area as him when I sent him the tell.. I don't think he ever caught on
normally I don't care enough to report retarded names, but the server I was on had serious population issues, and 40% of the players were blood elves...not a fun time to be horde, especially since I'm not really a big fan of the race myself. seeing a BE paladin named sephiroth just did it enough for me to report

In WoW you get reported for using punctuation? What's the problem if the name field lets you enter in those characters?

Foreign languages, i.e. those dastardly swedes, use those crazy punctuation marks.
But it's verboten in the states.

We had Ã…se the main tank on Shadowmoon. When we transfered to Magtheridon (free server transfer, and Shadowmoon somehow became Czech Central) she changed it to Easi.

I think the biggest reason is that it makes the character much more difficult to /target if you don't have the characters memorized, especially if the letter comes early in the name. You can't '/target a' to find a rogue whose name starts with Ã…, ferzample.
I have discovered a guild in the barrens of a certain server. I am chiding Saeris over his poor decision in choosing a temporary server on which to hang out until the arrival of TBC.
Homorush was quite the gem we played on, let me tell you. Of course, since it was the wench who picked the server, are you really surprised it ended up being horrible? I'm not
I'm not even a Tolkien fan, but I'm just pissed that he says "it's from a movie".
That was my first thought. 8-)

Shoulda named the guild "Sidely School of Flavor"
Yes, I did that on purpose.

paid name changes has finally restored one of my favorite guildmates back to his real glory. Back when wow started, he named his priest Fatherbob. For whatever reason, a year later when we were regularly doing MC, blizz made him change his name, and he became Frbob. And every new recruit into the guild, and every nub on the server, called him fire resist bob.
So now he's Fatherbob again, and we're all happy.
Also, a guy in my guild named his rogue Hironakamura (the japanese guy from Heroes). What baffles me, is he must be one damn good rogue, because that show isn't all that old, and he had full BWL gear before BC came out.

Or he originally had some other retarded name that got forced a change and went with that.

i know of someone in PS that was named erekshun, eerection and nutliker. doesn't get much crap for it. but it is funny if you think about it. when he kills someone he can say "youve been killed by an eerection/nutliker" sick but true.
So while I'm in the Dire Maul arena working on The Razza, some same-faction rogue decides to kill me. Meh, unimaginative cliche-ey name:
Glance over his gear, still got half blues and even a green, would have stood no chance if not for the elite spamming poison, lightning, and teleports, the usual situation. Then I get to his arena teams.
Wait, what?

That's quite a drop for only one week. Just goes to show you that you shouldn't Arena when drunk.
I recently grouped with a Troll Fire Mage named 'Tehpwnzorx.' When asked if I ever thought of respeccing fire, I told him I hated it. He asked me if I hated him, and I told him that his name was shitty. He responded with, 'There's nothing wrong with it.'

It's actually next to impossible to tell the difference between a ì and an i in the game of wow. There is about 1 pixel difference.
EDIT: I usually go to the verbal harrassment area to report the people.

I have a wizard named Superthayan. Better?
I know it was a good rpg, but it was ten years ago.
It makes me sad because it means that Loladin was already taken.

Best guild name ever?

Or he moved servers and changed his name :P
It's just childish.

Wait, what?
Unworthy
Too emo?
Fixed?
Hey look i'm posting in G&T
Barely.
Bear signal
I'm playing FlyFF now and I turned the player names off, there were too many xXluvgurlXxs around.
Worst rogue name is wow is "xrougex" Kinda sad because it means that rouge was taken, and meaing rogue probably was too. Rouges are overpowdered
You can't? Pfft, that's why rouge is taken then. There's also "Foodspec" the mage. He can't make water, he's food specced.
Someone must be having a period.
