When you've got 8 million subscribers you can afford to spend time & money on a gamer minority.

I've always been tempted to make a Brute named Slavage, just because I'm always misspelling salvage, and I think that would be an awesome brute name.

I'd really like to play CoX.

However, the developers decided to give a big 'fuck you' to the Macintosh community.

At least, there was no Mac client last time I checked. I assume that hasn't changed.

How many start up studios making their first game create a client for Macs? Don't forget that Cryptic was literally formed to make City of Heroes. They didn't exactly have the amount of cash that a studio with a string of gigantic hits like Blizzard had to throw at making a seperate client.

From what I understand, Bootcamp lets Mac users with the right hardware play CoH quite easily, so there's little incentive for Cryptic to develop a Mac client. I certainly wouldn't look for one from their next game either, since MUO is being funded by Microsoft and Marvel. ;-)

I think that CoH manages to take the bad name to a new level by adding in the costume to go with it.

Oh no, it's not just the costume or the names, the character bio plays a big part too. You WoW people have no idea what you are missing.

    Example:

That's some god damn truth right there. I see that in all games: the people who write good English are people who don't have it as first language. :P

I like the stories about the Chinese people who play Scrabble online, in English, and kick ass at it. They memorized the language as a game, so they don't know what the words mean, but they know how to make them and how everything can be strung together.

That is terrible. However, I told my Viet\Laotian GF who is a practicing Buddhist about it and she laughed. So I guess it's alright to laugh at.

Back during the CoV beta there was a forum thread about a criminal named Jenkins (unrelated to any other Jenkins), and people would make 'blog' type posts from him where every week he got into and got kicked out of a different villain group. "Kicked out of the Hellions today for setting the boss's hair on fire", "freaks wanted to replace some, uh, wierd parts with metal today", etc. Hilarious, too bad it dissappeared with the CoV beta forums.

Also, "could care less" is such a pet peeve of mine. If you could care less, then that means you do care, fools!
