Product Key Invalid?

I just got a new laptop, and for some reason it does not want to take my product key for windows. Is there some way I can verify its incorrectness before I call up Futureshop and ask what the hell is going on?

    Are you sure you are using the right key? maybe you grabbed the wrong one or you are confusing letters and numbers like 0 and a O. Beyond that, there is nothing you can really do. You might have just gotten a bad key. I have had it happen before.

    There are no 0's or O's, I definitely have the correct key and all of that jazz, I have no idea why its not working.

    You got a bad key then. Your going to have to call Microsoft and or go complain to future shop.
