So, the first review is up on Amazon, and it is amazing.
I really wanted to enjoy this game,as I have the first two Persona games as well as Nocturne and Devil Summoner;but Persona 3 goes way past the line of good taste.

To summon your Persona (other self or ego) players will put a gun (called
an Evoker) to their head and pull the trigger.Atlus, this is %110 BULL***T!!

The fact that these characters are teenagers and also that adolescents are among the highest rate of suicide victims, makes me want to vomit, when I think that YOU ARE MAKING MONEY OFF THIS!

There was absolutely no reason to put something so careless, idiotic and in such bad taste in a a game. This was all done in the name of the almighty dollar.Who needs any form of integrity when we can make a quick buck?

It's also not as if this is displayed once in the game, but everytime a character wants to transform into a Persona,we get to see a nice scene of kids blowing their brains out. What class Atlus;I hope you sleep well at night. What a wonderful thing for the youth to be exposed to.No doubt this game will also be played by those under 17.Even those who are of age and older, this is an unhealthy thing to be desensitized with.

To ALL the developers at Atlus and ALL the people that say there is nothing wrong with that aspect of the game;why don't you show this to some families WHO HAVE LOST LOVED ONES TO SUICIDE?Specifically by using a gun!See how "creative","artistic" or "FUN" they think it is.

This game should be recalled and that ignorant, insensitive and immature aspect be removed.I hope these jokers get sued, and whatever money they made from this game gets donated to teen suicide prevention.

Its so great hearing the Velvet Room music which has remained the same since the very first game. Igor's voice isn't that bad, not as spooky as the Japanese voice though.

    Ha, jokers.

    4/18 and counting.

I love the music played at the school's gate. Best ever.

Is it wrong that I'm (literally) taking notes?
Fortunately, I knew the difference between Monolithic and Paleolithic

I swear I've heard Mitsuru's voice somewhere before. I hope not from where I'm thinking(Shikigami II).

And to all the people playing Easy: you get continues. Come on, that's no fun.

Definitely not as spooky, but I like his voice all the same.

    (More like Velvet Elevator...)

Awesome, my copy just arrived. UPS didn't fail me this time!

Finally I have something to do other than trolling the Bioshock thread for any sniff of an early release in my area :D

Edit: Oh wow, I am so Rasterbating half of this artbook.
what? your in canada? wtf did you find to order from here that gets you games anywhere near the release date?!
i hate you so much right now

I ordered International Economy from... EBgames.com. It wasn't shipped until the 14th, and arrived today. It got here 5 days faster than my Atelier Iris 1&2 order for some reason.

The difficulty and strategy involved is what makes the Shin Megami Tensei games so fun. I honestly can't think of an RPG series that is more difficult (or difficult at all) than SMT. It just doesn't feel right to plow through all the fights without dying.

I died dozens of times in Persona 1 until I started figuring out tactics.

Love the packaging. Easily worth the delay.

And yes, I'm going to name my character my own name too.

So uh... you guys should probably know that it might be vitally imperative that you know the difference between the Neolithic and Mesolithic era's in the stone age.

    Yeah. Seriously.

On an unrelated note I to am in Canada and in all my years of ordering games online from EB I've never failed to receive them the day after the release date. Maybe I'm on a lucky distribution line.

Do you have in-game currency to buy soft drinks, or can you just get one at any time for free? I wasn't sure I wanted to risk spending my free beginning stipend if it ended up I could use that money for items later. :P

Like really early game mechanics that probably isn't even a spoiler but whatever.
So on my first day of free time after school I figured I'd do some solo Karaoke you know to raise my charm. Turns out it raises your courage not your charm. Which makes sense now that I think about it.

    A little off topic but;

Holy shit, do you guys know how hard it is to vacuum a pool that hasn't seen clean water in a fucking year?

Oh, and that the only instruction video that came with the damn thing is just an installation video that loops for two hours?

I'm hating trying to get the money for this right now. And I can't stop, or else I won't even make the first shipment. :x

Anyone know for sure if all shipments of the game will come with the bonuses? :|

Also, there's a second intro if you wait at the title screen, and it's quite cool.

It shows some late characters and their voices though, so maybe you'll want to avoid it if you want to wait until they show up.

I'm glad it's dubbed, contrary to some early rumors.

On the bright side, Mitsuhide, the inner casing had no text on the back.

It leads me to believe this might be the only packaging this game'll ever get.

I've never played a Shin Megami Tensei game before, and therefore this is nothing like what I expected.
And is so amazing for not being what I expected. The soundtrack and voice acting so far have been superb, and I'm loving the little story snippets I've gotten so far.

Yay I picked up my copy today...... and I can't play it for another 5 hours because I won't be home. I would've had time but at gamestop some lady decided to get the whole history of everything ever from the ONLY guy working at the time so I had to wait like 15 minutes before I could even get up to the counter. Now that I'm finally home, I have to go in 10 minutes. Forgive me my sweet Persona! I shall play you tonight though!

Well, apparently you can't have 2 of the same Personas. So don't waste a card trying to get another one.

I was like, "Oh, another one! I'll get it and fuse them together and probably get a stronger version!"

I own SMT: Nocturne, Persona 2, and both Digital Devil Saga titles.

I've played none of them. At all. The collector's side of me, though, sees this Persona 3 first-run bonus, and I salivate. I really think I need to play through my SMT backlog, but the other part of me wants me to purchase this so deeply.

You can always catch up later.

    That's what I'll do with P2.

Also, about the P3 Velvet Room...

    Isn't this a serious retcon?
How come only the protagonist can see it? I thought all Persona users could see the Velvet Room.

Also, Trish better show up eventually.
