I have had the hiccups for about 2 hours now and I can't sleep or do anything productive. I've tried scaring myself with a paper bag. I've tried eating sugar packets and holding them in my mouth, but nothing is working. Please help me cure my hiccups!
Alright, THIS IS REALLY THE MOST LIKELY ONE TO WORK.
Take a deep breath as deep as you can, hold it for a sec, and then blow it out until there is absolutely no air left in your lungs. Repeat about 5-10 times. It will be gone. Its the only thing that works for me.
It always works in my experience. If it doesn't you didn't do it hard enough.
Also, np Gihgehls. I'm always pleased to share this ancient wisdom

All I do is hold my breath for 30-40 seconds solid and hold it uh...really hard..if that makes any sense. Sorta tense up while you hold it. You will probably have to concentrate on it quite hard to stop yourself from hiccupping while you hold your breath. May take a few tries even. This method has always worked for me.
i think i just made this one up out of nowhere but its worked for me, actually had to do it last night and was aces
take a big sip of water, tilt your head back, open your mouth, and swallow
its not easy to swallow like this, but i think its better if you dont do it cleanly
like swallow just a little bit at a time, and do it pretty sloppily
so you should have to do it a few times to get all the water out of your mouth, and might feel like gagging on some of it on the way
i think that gagging is what you want cos you can feel it at the same place where you feel the hiccups from
In the past what always worked for me was emptying a sugar packet on my tounge and holding it there for a minute. I think it has to do with concentrating on not inhaling the stuff.

Seriously, it works if someone does it right.
It works for me, anyway.
EDIT: I think the burping worked.
EDIT II: false alarm. I still have them.
Always works.
Keep trying.
Haha, iceburned yourself on that one, I thought I'd have to come up with something for a minute.
Put your finger on each of your Tragus
And press really hard. I mean so hard it starts to hurt. Then push harder for about ten to fifteen seconds.
Bam
No Hiccups.
I always drink from the opposite side of the glass. The concentration required to bend over and tip the glass in the right way always seems to work..
