[Game On]WarTech: Senko no Ronde -- PA Player List
I found a copy of WarTech: Senke no Ronde for the 360, at the right price today so I'm picking it up after work. I've heard finding players online can be abit of a bitch so I'd like to get the gamertags of some PA players that actually own the game for some online play.
If you own Wartech: Senko no Ronde and would like to play online, post your gamertag here so we can all find each other on Live.
Feel free to send me an invite if I'm online, I'm usually up for a game.

I love the game personally, I'm not exceptional at it, but it hides a surprising wealth of depth. Decent plot as well, although it's a bit of an acquired taste keeping up with the dialog while playing the game. Also there's a rather elaborate system of getting the real endings, you'll have to find an FAQ somewhere.
Still w\quirky import lovers should love it. It really is like some sort of weird mix of Virtual On and Ikaruga, so for me at least it's a great game.
I've wanted to play this title for awhile. Unfortunately (for me hehe) one of my colleagues got the review copy meaning I decided to wait for a price drop.
From reading the reviews it looks like a love/hate type game ... I grew up on SHMUPS and Fighting games though in the Arcades so I've got high hopes. 69.99 Canadian was too much to pay but I found it for 39.99 which feels more in the ballpark.
After playing the game for several hours last night in multiplayer matches versus RhythmVictim I have to say Wartech is really good, far better a game than I initially thought.
There are layers of strategy and a depth to the game that's not apparent until you start to learn each Rounder (mech's) moves, and weapons loadout. The whole BOSS mechanic is done beautifully and really makes some of the battles epic.
The game kind of plays out like a match of SFII. You're in mechs though so it's sorta like VirtuaOn. And it's a top down perspective like a SHMUP. Each Rounder also has an emergency "BOSS" mode which allows it to turn into a massive mech kind of like the old bosses from SHMUP's of old. RhythmVictim and I found the game to be extremely balanced .... to be honest I had more fun than I've had with a 360 title in awhile.
Sadly the Live audience for this game is non existant ... which is a shame because it's really good. Did nobody else from PA buy this title?
I borrowed it from work's library yesterday. I played a bit last night, doing the single player story mode with one of the characters. Got to the final stage, failed a few times then had to stop, didn't have any more time to play.
I like the concept of the game but I'm not convinced yet about how fun this game can be. After I fought an opponent that defeated me I found that the best way to beat them was just closing in and slash them to death with my blades. Melee deals so much more damage than any of my other weapons.
Also, I didn't quite understand the special moves listed in the manual. For example, a move will read: back, foward B, Y. Back, forward, A does a different move than the normal A barrage, but pressing Y afterwards just does the normal Y attack, nothing different happens. Is this how it's supposed to be?
I found multiplayer to be alot more fun than single player ... partly because the AI is REALLY good at dodging barrages of bullets that no human could ever possibly avoid. Also it's fun hearing your opponent start freaking out when you go into BOSS mode.
Regarding combos, I'm still learning the combo system and individual Rounder weapon systems myself. I believe that some combos cost energy from your bar at the top and if you don't have enough energy you won't be able to perform the combo (not sure on this but I noticed certain more powerful weapons and combos seemed to cost part of my energy bar).
I started a topic on it shortly before it came out, but the topic failed miserably. Most people weren't fond of paying normal price for a game they've never heard of and was vastly different from anything that's been released, which is understandable. It would've been nice is Ubisoft tried advertising the game at least a little bit, then maybe it might've done better (a little). All they ever did was release one press release and 2 screenshots; pretty pitiful. I've mostly played the game with people I've located through forums, as that's probably the best way to play online. I haven't played in a while, though I've been meaning to.
Fireflash: It's probably a misprint. The "Y button" or whatevers after the comma aren't needed. I'm not sure why the manual has them there, but they're part of the move. About the melee, were you fighting AI or online? Most people I've played online are smart enough to dodge melee attacks.

I agree that Ubisoft really didn't do enough marketing of the game ... a part of me wondered why they even bothered to release it if they weren't going to push it at least a bit.
I took the time to watch some of the gameplay movies. There's a great review of Wartech on GT which is well worth checking out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-tV6xB81l0
It gives a good visual overview of the title although I totally disagree with the commentary and overall score.
GameFly is doing its best to prevent me from playing the game and has been for weeks, but if/when I ever pick it up I'll totally be up for some gaming.

I only played the single player campaign briefly. The AI would dodge too many of my attacks so I would just dash-in and slash away. Fights would last less than 15 seconds unless the AI used BOSS mode.

You can grab it used from Amazon for 40 dollars.
I actually got a brand new copy for 39.99 Canadian at an independant gaming store although Best Buy was still selling it for 69.99 CDN.
I suspect a price drop may come soon ... for me finding it so cheap was the deciding factor and it was well worth the purchase.
