What would happen if someone were to get a 2nd cable modem from their cable provider and plug it into another coax jack?
Would it work at all? If not why not (what happens)
Would it spit out the same speeds as the first one?
Would they both be halved?
Like say, to cut down on bandwidth sharing amoungst computers in a house, could I get a 2nd modem and run full bandwidth just to whatever I have plugged into it?
cable works in a community setting where having two of them just means they're sharing the same bandwidth
at peak hours in your neighborhood you won't get as fast speeds because your neighbor might be browsing youtube, but at 4 am you can probably go lights out
essentially assuming you could even GET a signal (probably not, the ISP wouldn't respond to a second modem without confirmation of the mac address) you wouldn't be gaining anything
