Howdy folks. As some of you might now:
A)I'm planning to make an RPG game
B)It's my birthday
C)I suck at concept art.
Therefore, I'd like to ask you to help me develop the races that are to populate the fantasy world for Overwolrd (the title of the game for now). Mostly to make them less cartoony, add more details, make them exude the correct vibe.
Also post your own creations You'd like to see redesigned/fanarted/rendered from a different angle.
Tehins. They are dexterous, strict and self-disciplined people devoted to self-development. A Tehin will do much (and sacrifice much) to learn new things. Those traits make them perfect technicians, so most of the leaders of the technician guild (taking care of restoring and developing old artifacts of technology) are indeed Tehins. Their devotion to science and skill makes them unstable in terms of character though- they are gloomy, erratic and uncaring towards other people.
Here's what I could come up: (they're not nekkid all the time) Slightly higher than a typical human.
Shaiahs. A truly alien race, they only appeared a few tens of years ago on the face of the world, emerging from the earth in giant, plant-like structures, already mature but claiming to have no memory of previous existence. They have formidable mental abilities and the skill of using their life-force to cast spells, which makes them dangerous spellcasters. They retreated to the central deserts to form their own cities, build theyr own culture and maybe discover the secrets of their origins. WIP, roughly 3/4 of typical human size.
Geckobs are the product of Tehin genetic experiments. Meant to be quick and agile "shock troops" with low willpower (for easier control), however mutations often occur (due to the inability to control the genetic process by the Tehins). They are able to regenerate their wounds quickly.
(This is a big problem for me, because I've been drawing Nicolai in a cartoony way for so long, that I can hardly take this race any further):

The other races are:
Shaiahs: high willpower magic users
Lacerts: large, strong, peacful reptilian people
Geckobs: fast and agile (Nicolai is a slightly mutated Geckob)
Humans or Elves (haven't decided yet)
Normal Goblins (small, loud, angry and obnoxious I LOVE THOSE GUYS)

Also, if you don't feel like working on the designs themselves, any crits regarding them or the art are obviously welcome as well.
EDIT: hmm, the tehins weren't supposed to look that weak, especially in comparison with the shaiahs. Gonna have to work on that.

That's why I wanted this to also be the fanart thread, so I can "repay" you guys sooner- but noone seems to be posting their peeps
Rye- an interesting take on the face- it makes him look more dynamic/lively somehow. I think I'm gonna try two separate versions and see how they come out.
You also mentioned the Lacert, the "big, peaceful reptilian" folks. Again, I'm just sharing this because this came to mind. I'm sure humanoid Parasaurolophus-hybrids weren't intended. I hate spelling that word, but still like the idea. Here you go:
