Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Co-Op + DS?

Can you play Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles on Co-Op (which regularly requires a Gameboy Advanced + Link Cable) with a DS instead? Does the link cable even interface with the DS?

    Man that's a pain in the ass. I suppose it would have been too easy for them to make Crystal Chronicles standard 4player Co-Op with just gamecube controllers.
