I use it if the thread being showed is one I am interested in.

But if the thread being showed is one I have no interest in I will ignore that feature.

Now if you put a way for me to get to my last post read per thread, that is a feature I would use all the time.

usually I read the front page then a few more and go to the last page if anythign is referenced in it I will read the thread backwords

I dunno, Tube, a feature like that doesn't seem terribly useful for SE++, but it still has its merits for the slower moving forums like Writer's Block, where there might only have been one new post since your last visit anyway.
