XBox360 - 1080p via component turns purple

I have a new 360 connected to my Westinghouse LVM-37w3 (1080p LCD). When playing Forza 2, any time the "Split Time" text shows up on the screen, the bottom third of the image gets a purple tint. Also, whenever the image has a lot of yellow showing, or bright-colored reflection off the road or cars I get the purple tint effect. With Castlevania SOTN, when I hit a monster with any secondary weapon that makes a bright flash (knife, holy water), the bottom third of the screen briefly flashes purple.

With the TV hooked up to my computer via DVI running a 1920x1080 there is no problem with the colors at any time.

Has anyone else seen this happen on my model of TV, or similar setups using 1080p? When I scale it down to 720p everything is fine. The image looks almost the same but I'm concerned that some part of my hardware is fucking up and I'd like to know if it's a known issue or I need to do some more troublehshooting.

Most HDTVs don't support 1080 via component.

I have that TV, and while I've never hooked up an xbox to it, I'm pretty sure it can only take 1080p via vga, hdmi, or dvi

make sure the switch on the 360 a/v cord (where it plugs into the system itself) is set to "TV" and not "HDTV" when using a non-HD TV.

Both of my brothers have TVs that take component but don't do HD and it works just fine that way.

Well, this TV was shown recently (if I remember correctly) in OXM as being one of the newest tvs out there that supported 1080p over component and comes as quite a good deal for those without an Elite 360. Since they probalby played a lot of Forza 2 on it and other games I'm almost certain they would have mentioned that. Could be a problem with whatever part of the tv allows the component 1080p, since no other setup is messing up with it. I was looking forward to that tv myself once I read about it in that mag. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get it and how much did you pay?

Does your TV support VGA or HDMI?

You should either try to find someone with a VGA cable or an Elite and see if it still has an issue running 1080p through those.

I know my Sony TV will only allow 1080p through HDMI or VGA and gets all crazy if I try to set it through component.
