Are there any fighting games, beat'em ups or something like that for PC? Because I don't have any consoles (My NES wires are missing).

    Sort of on topic

I was in Tesco the other week. They were selling "Virtua Fighter (1) PC" for a dirt cheap price. It had a sticker on it saying "Grab it quick, whilst stocks last"

This game came out in 1996.

Heh, there's also Oni which is a slightly old, if not awesome (YMMV) brawler from Bungie. There's melty blood which I think is a 2D fighter although I'm not sure where you get it from.

There are a great number of doujin fighters for the PC, Melty Blood, Tsukihime, Big Bang Beat, Blitzkampf. There are also a great number of other fighters you can get from other sources for the PC, if you catch my meaning

What he said. There's a surprising number of doujin fighters for the PC that are really high in polish.

Guilty Gear XX #Reload and Isuka both have PC ports. And Melty Blood Act Credenza is getting a PC port sometime later this month.

You shut up! Oni was awesome.

Also, depending on who you ask, Melty Blood is either a lame hentai-derived game or a completely amazing fighter. I've never played it, but I'd love to, because I've heard enough good things to pique my interest.

No, the combat system was awesome, everything else around it, including story, voice acting and levels, was largely mediocre. Still, there was nothing sweeter in that game than getting into a brawl with 3 other guys and coming out completely unscathed. I think I probably only managed that once or twice, but it looks awesome when you pull it off.

Not quite a fighting fighting game, but I've always been a fan of Little Fighter 2:

    http://www.lf2.net/

It's a sort of freeware Smash Bros' style brawler with anime influenced characters. You can play with up to 4 human players on 1 PC, and 8 over a network. It's also got a singleplayer game, which is essentially Double Dragon: LF2 edition.

In any case try it, you might like it. Very simple to play.

EDIT: Melty Blood was OK, but I could never get into it (largely because I can't be bothered to devote time to fighters to perfect my techniques. I rarely get into fighters in general). Graphics are OK too,

I'll also add in my vote for the Guilty Gear series, since it's very well animated and quite a deep fighter. Or at least I'm told it's a deep fighter (see above).

Heh, I really liked Oni. It deserves a sequel if nothing else. It was only when I played through it again last year that the "every level is just a bunch of little boxes inside big boxes" really hit home.

It's a shame Halo has basically overun bungie so much, I really want to know what they're going to do after Halo 3.

I won't defend anything about Oni except the gameplay. It deserves every criticism that it's ever recieved--the voice acting is terrible, the story is stupid, the level design is extremely bland.

But it's really fun to beat up dudes.

    One Must Fall: 2097.
    It's free, too.

And yeah- Melty Blood is a beat-em-up. The hentai game is something else.

    And I liked Oni.

Holy shit thanks for this! Just spent the better part of 2 hours playing. Got up to Mr X and died though :(

Also, I liked Oni way back when, great combat, I should check it out see if it's still fun. I remember the checkpointing being horrible though, and also I seem to recall it being pretty difficult. These two things together = not so much fun.
