Help with Gamespy

I need help connecting to certain online games that use Gamespy.
-Firstly, I play Battlefront 2. I go to multiplayer, and a message appears saying:
"Connection to Gamespy ID servers are lost. Please Try again." I have tried to reinstall the game and turn down the firewall. Please help me.
-Secondly. I have tried to connect online with Civ 4 and it doesn't work. When I log on. The game pauses for a bit and then it still stay on the multiplayer menu screen. I have tried to turn down firewall and such and it doesn't work.
- Gamespy does work for my Halo Trial when i go on multiplayer. Also, my internet works when i go on my browser, Internet Explorer and when I use non Gamespy multiplayer games, such as Warcraft 3.
