Yeah Ive been waiting for some new songs to play for awhile. Says that it ships in 3-5 business days because I'm in Canada, but 24 hours if youre from the states.

I dunno. I want to play new songs, but I can't say I'm excited to pay $50 for 80's rock. I think I'll just wait it out for GH3 and Rock Band.

This game is street dated for July 24th. It ships today, but you won't get it until next week. I would highly recommend changing the thread title.

This would be a definite buy for me if it were half the price.
As it stands, I think I'll have to wait based on the shoddy vocals of GH2. (Heart-Shaped Box ftl!)

I was at one of the malls in the toronto area...thats ontario, Canada...and the EB Games had it there just at the entrance for the ps2...I didn't see copies for 360...or is the ps2 version already out and we're just talking about 360 here...sorry if thats the case

Agreed. I was initially very excited for this, but the thought of paying full-price for this when I have to save my money for Rock Band and potentially GH3 in the fall really took a lot of the wind out of its sails for me.

IIRC they Fedex'd my order. I haven't ordered from EB in like three years though.

I think the less knowledgeable players for whom GH is one of the very few videogames they play might still buy it, not being fully aware of the smaller amount of content this game has.

This game comes out next week? Weird, when we made game orders for this week at the videostore that I work at, it was listed for this week. Guess I'll let you guys know if we get it on Thursday (that's when we usually get games). Maybe it's being shipped extra early.

I'm more excited for just having new songs to play more than the few I eagerly want to play, Dio, Maiden, Priest and Anthrax. I'm not concerned about the $50 price for the package, this like the others, I am more than likely to be surprised to supremely enjoy playing songs I have no business liking more than ones I've anticipated.

$50 (w/o guitar) got you 45 in the first one and 55 in the second (numbers may be off, I'm guessing right now).

Here, $50 gets you...30. I mean, unless I was drooling to play all of them, I don't see a point to buy it at that price with GH3 and Rock Band coming this/next year. Now, after a price drop? Down to thirty or so bucks? Yeah, definitley.

I bet that the entire song track will come out on the 360 as some type of DLC for GH2. Like, 40 bucks for all of it.

Ok what people need to understand is that there are guitar hero fiends out there. I tend to play at lest a couple hours a day on average....and I can't play GH 1 anymore because its just..well....meh as far as game play goes.

So that means I play GH 2...alot, I already own 2 guitars and a copy of GH 1 & 2 for the PS2. when they announced 10 new songs for the 360 I very much considered shelling out the money for a 360, a copy of GH 2 + 2 guitars, just for 10 songs, and future DLC, I don't have alot of money, I was considering a small lone. I would also pay the $6 per song pack because I know I will play each song probably 100's of times.

I am not just happy to play $50 for 80's I'm fucking thrilled. Its also an opportunity to play more harmonixs made note tracks before rock band is released, and I know I will end up enjoying probably every single song in the set list even though I've never heared most of them.

Fuck anyone bitching about the price, this is a great buy for any real Guitar Hero fan. It could be the last decent one depending on what never soft and activision end up doing with the brand.

Then I hope you enjoy the game, I really do. We're just saying, considering the previous games, 30 songs is not worth fifty bucks. This, of course, is subject to opinion. Ours varies from yours. Have fun with the game, I'll grab it after a price drop.

I want this. I'm a huge GH fan. I have 2 guitars, one wireless, and I've 5*'d nearly every Expert song.

$50 is too much for what almost feels like an expansion pack.


But alas, I'm going to have to get it. Maybe I can find someone to split the cost of it with. That's what I'll do.

here's an analogy that fits with my way of thinking quite well:

32X gets released....6 months (I think?) later, the Saturn gets released.

GH80's gets released....a few months later GH2 and RockBand get released(hopefully).

yeah I'd like to have GH80's, but with greener pastures down the road...I think I'll wait or not get it at all depending on how good the next iteration(s) are.
