RULES
1) Entries are due at 11:59 pm (Central Time) the night before your match is set to begin.
*If you cannot meet your deadline, shoot me a PM with a reason why and I'll see what I can do.
*You may call in a fill-in artist or writer.
*PM all entries to ME (Son of Beyonder)
2) The victor of each match is determined by a poll that will be open for twenty-four hours. I will post a thread for each match with a poll attached.
3) Entries may be as long or short as you wish, as long as they follow a comic book format. No animation or movies please.
4) You may follow the themes as loosely or as closely as you want, but be sure to include them in some way.
5) The tournament's continuity is determined by the victor of each match. The entry that wins the vote is considered official continuity. You do not have to rigidly follow continuity in any way.
6) PLEASE do not include nudity or graphic sex scenes in your entries. I cannot stress this enough. And no disembodied penis monsters.
7) DO NOT BITCH ABOUT THE VOTES. You may discuss it, but I will penalize chronic whiners.
8) THIS IS NOT SERIOUS BUSINESS. THIS IS FOR FUN.
9) Teams are divided into divisions. At the end of the "regular season," the winner of each division will advance to the playoffs, along with the top four second place teams, and a team decided by popular vote.
10) Your opponent must be involved in the challenge. You are fighting your opponent. Jeez.

Silver Age Shenanigans - The Silver Age was fucking nuts. Your task is to tap that nuttiness and bottle it into your match.
Flashdance - No dancing (well, no required dancing, anyway). Only flashbacks. There can be as many as you like, but you have to have at least one.
Attacks on Mars! - You fight on Mars. That's basically it. (It can be any version of Mars you like)
Indy Cred - Reference as many independent characters you can OR raid a tomb faster than your opponent!
Skrull-O-Rama! - Skrulls are involved in your match. It's up to you to show how
Bar Room Blitz - Why take it outside when you can trash a bar with your opponent's face?
Clone Wars - Evil clones, transgendered clones, clones with extra limbs...how many and what they do are up to you.
Minority Report - In an effort to diversify, your hero is temporarily replaced with a more ethnic version.
Miller Time - Do Frank Miller proud. Hookers, dirty cops, dark heroes...you see it all in these matches.
Cliffhanger - Either resolve a cliffhanger or end on one. TO BE CONTINUED IS YOUR FRIEND
Super Forum Battle Go! - YOU ARE SUPER FIGHT HERO! YOU WILL FIGHT IN THE WAY OF COMIC OF JAPAN! MANGA! ^_^
Are You Not Entertained? - Remember Gladiator? Yeah. Swords and sandals and/or togas. Possibly lions.
Superboy Punches A Chaos Magic Wall - It's a retcon fiesta! Be sure to come up with the most bizarre explanation you can.
Child's Play - Any game kids play is fair game here. Uno, dodgeball, spelling bees...you can even be children if you want.
Political Awareness - Work out your frustrations about the government by turning comic book characters into thinly veiled stand-ins.
Consumer Whores - Abandon you principles and sell some sweet, sweet merchandise (DRINK PEPSI)
Anthology of Interest - Take a gander into the "What If?" Machine and see what might have been.
Brave and the Bold - Team up with a friend to take down your opponent. Hey, this ain't supposed to be a fair fight for everyone.
Back to the (Days of) Future (Past) - Who said this tournament had to take place in the present? You people.
Mope Off - Superheroes lead a tough life. Make us feel sorry for you. Linkin Park optional.
Big Guns & Tiny Feet - The nineties were awesome. You get to show us why.
Not the outcome, but other stuff.
The seed is planted
AWWW MAN!!!

Also, for Brave and Bold, are we talking about teaming up with another character in the tournament, or generally just having another character participate in the beatdown?
This'll be fun.
Rock Band DLC | GW:OttW - arrcd | WLD - Thortar
I wonder what T'Challa would look like in a beat up brown fedora.
make something up!
if you want to use someone else's character, talk to the owner first so they can make reference to it if they want
I thought "version" indicated that you had to use established renditions, but if not then okay I'll get thinking right away.
Groovy!
Other playoff themes are "Wednesday Night Fever," "Caption Wars," "Yellow Bubbles!" "Leaving on a Jetplane," "Wedding Crashers," and "Community Service"
As it is, I've got ideas for all three of my matches so far.
Just making sure I know exactly what's going on. ;-)
this is going to make writing the Guy vs Heath Hudson fight so much easier
Yeah, you are fighting your opponent in each round in the literal sense. You just have to follow the theme while doing it.
"Hey, Spider-man, remember that time I got a salmon football helmet from Mohammad?"
Also, am I correct in assuming the opponent HAS to be involved in the match directly? Like, for Miller Time, I have to find a way to make Dr. Light appropriate?(which basically means she's going to be wearing fishnets, leather straps, and be a complete slut. Awesome.)
Don't forget the swastikas everywhere.
They sure won't mean anything though.
You now, I hadn't thought of it until now, but it's startling that Invincible isn't more emo, given how much crap he's had to handle.
that or zombie special bear.
edit: nevermind, I found the answer
I don't think the Japanese even know black people exist.
You're out touch.
For Indy Cred, I am torn between a comic of Black Panther and Spider-man talking about Dr. McNinja, or having them raiding a tomb.
why not...both?
PARKER, YOU'RE FIRED! <-- My comic book podcast! Satan look here!
Raiding the ancient tomb of ancestor Pharaoh McNinja, guarded by cackling Tengu Jackals?
Why, that sounds like a prescription... for adventure!
Take twice daily with meals.
